You can not be serious with this Milkis? You are the cutest guy I've ever seen, you can't leave because some assholes sit and insult you. Look at Totalbiscuit, one of the most hated casters within SC2, but he handles it fine, and he is just getting more and more famous. Final thing to say must be, MILKIS DONT QUIT, my god you can't do this, imagine all players that get hate, they don't quit playing? they stay focused on what they want to do, no matter what the others say. Love u milkis, dont quit.

this is quite possibly the biggest cry for attention i've ever seen. it's actually really sad. however the good news for everyone enabling this huge man child is there is a 0% chance he actually means anything he's said about leaving.

Dude the people at the event all knew how hard you were working your ass off. I remember seeing you running around with food for all the Koreans and thinking how tough it must be to keep track of all of them on top of translating. Much respect, do what you think is best <3

So ridiculous, I am sorry milkis but you carry yourself like a absolute child. I dont know whats your problem but all I see on reddit starcraft is people singing your praises and you ignore it and listen to the bad comments. I find it amusing how you are making such a immature sing and dance about leaving and you always seem to be " that guy " who brings himself down all the time and cant handle a compliment without dismissing it. Cya, not as if there isnt a million other translaters anywho

oh well theyre both hot
anyways Milkis at first i thought this was super overdramatic but I actually read the reddit thread this is about now and i do think its a bit disgusting how people are reacting. But you know how people like to bandwagon and gangrape on any of these communities, so as soon as someone as highly respected as DjWheat writes his ridiculously overly dramatic rant you are in trouble.. But thats how it works in these communities, internet people arent nice and they dont like to look beyond the surface, you need to get thicker skin and get over this kinda stuff.
Also Zlasher should stfu.

I gotta tell you, I agree with your post on Reddit.

MILKIS NOT TRANSLATING AND BEING INVOLVED IN THE COMMUNITY IS KILLING ESPORTS
|
I didn't think it was right to shit on other peoples games but I also can't believe how disgusting some of the reddit comments were and even more so how they were upvoted.
I love BW too but I'm not going to disrespect other games and not call them "esports". I'd rather just consider BW a step above esports.

If people just respected the players and casters who do their best and also the people who do make great things happen like the MKP to Orlando thing, then the things would get better way faster than they do right now.
I do wonder what is the reason that the SC2 scene gets more people who seem to just enjoy drama and other lame things instead of the the game and the work people put into it.
This is slightly off topic, but I must disagree. No, effort alone is worthy of neither respect nor praise. Especially if that effort falls flat on its face most of the time.
Pretending that everything is amazing will not propel esports forward. On the other hand, being unable (or refusing) to say "this is good, and this is bad" is a problem, because it stops the cream from rising to the top, where it needs to be.
Some people are untalented, or unmotivated, or lazy, or unintelligent. Saying so is not bad for esports, and it is not wrong. In fact it is absolutely necessary. If we praise the worst of the worst, is praise then not completely meaningless? I realize many people on TL are rather young and have grown up in sheltered "everybody gets a star" environments, but this is the real world...

Noooo Milkis. Haters will be haters man. I respect your decision though. Just kick back and enjoy some good ol Starcraft.
|
Why would you let what other people talk about you affect yourself? Man up. I love and appreciate all your work.
|
What the heck? I didn't know people were giving him such a hard time. I feel like something is being lost in translation, and that isn't a stab at him at all. Can someone link to where he is getting hated on?
|
Why bother making this post? The only people who'll care are the ones that genuinely liked and supported you all along, it isnt gonna do shit to change the mind of any dumbfuck that was insulting you or stuff like that. And yet your post seems aimed at them, rather than everyone thats responding in this thread that obviously loves all your work and truly appreciates you I'd say if peoples opinions on the internet piss you off/disturb you, then you're definitely making the right choice. Almost every single person who is in any way famous has to deal with shit like this at one point or another, because given anonymity, most people act like tough guy fuckwads. The only exception to this rule i can think of is day9, but even then the people that dislike him probably dont speak out because in the sc community its simply taboo to talk shit about day9

Milkis essentially bit the hand that supports him by slandering other games by saying they're nothing compared to BW. Maybe it would've been noble if Milkis actually stuck with his argument or fought for his side but instead he deletes everything and decides to quit. No, that's not someone you should support.

All I ever see plastered ALL over r/Starcraft is people singing your praises. Constantly.
Maybe take a real look at your position.

You never asked for this.
What a shame.

I just caught up on all of this as well. It seems there were personal attacks on his twitter account which he promtly deleted. Alot has happened in the last 24 hours in esports that I was not awared of!

Nothing really lost in translation
http://www.reddit.com/r/starcraft/comments/lstnm/as_promised_my_very_elitist_description_of_brood/
inflammatory opinion piece on BW being the only true esport getting violently disagreed with by the community and a couple of notable esports figures.
r/starcraft is a sc2 community at heart, anyone making that thread would have been similarly shot down. If you are a public figure (of sorts) using your status to lend weight to what you are writing you have to expect a sizable response of one kind of another.
I'm sorry you received a lot of hate, but I think it's a mistake to just walk away. There's lessons that can be learnt and the majority of people were critical of the opinions, not the person.

Can someone link to where he is getting hated on? It's not a translation, it's his opinion on esports, Unfortunately, due to the way that reddit works and the fact that many redditors don't understand BW, he received a lot of hate that was almost entirely undeserved.
