Is this all about the argument with djWheat? If so, all those people who don't realize that two people can legitimately have a difference of opinion should shut up. They weren't even mad at each other at the end, but suddenly all the awesome things that Milkis has done have been ignored.

I hope you come back.

Don't quit. You might have fallen in eyes of some. But you rose in eyes of others, the majority. Stay with TL community as we will support you whatever you do. Think about it...

I've never heard a bad thing said about you, all i ever see is praise or encouragement. I'm sure there are always a few idiots who will annoy anyone, but i never really saw any for you. You are extremely popular amongst the community arent you? Or am i totally misunderstanding something here?

So i honestly dont get it. TB, Husky, Incontrol, these are people who get criticized a lot, not you. Why listen to that 0.1%? Why even take it seriously? I dont understand.

But GL to you, ty for all the translating and all the other things you did.

Don't stick your neck out on the net if you aren't prepared to handle people violently disagreeing with you. This is probably based on the Reddit post from last night, which by all accounts was not a very good post and he got rightfully called out on it. It's not like we redditors hunted him out and hounded him for that post. He made it, and it got refuted in the comments by several well known community members. I still think Reddit still really likes Milikis overall, This post (http://www.reddit.com/r/starcraft/comments/lsrsy/milkis_is_thinking_about_playing_amnesia_but_he/) was nearly completely positive towards him last night. His post was dumb but we still liked him. The top. The top comment on this post (http://www.reddit.com/r/starcraft/comments/lt9y4/milkis_says_good_bye/) is positive as well. Milikis did a great job with the whole MKP/MLG thing and received massive praise. So don't characterize Reddit as an anti Milikis place. They've said worse about better people. The internet isn't a fucking kindergarden.

There will always be haters for everyone and everything. Giving them any attention at all is a HUGE mistake.

I don't post alot but I also wanted to say that I've appreciated everything I've seen and read from you Milkis. I think you should hang in there and focus on everyone that likes you instead of the haters. However you probably don't care that about my(some random guy) opinion so I'll just say that I think it's sad that alot of people get so much hate for minor things, e.g. total biscuit incontrol, you, etc. etc.

--Interacting directly with the community isn't for everyone. Some people take years to get good at it and be at peace with all the things the community says and other people should just avoid it completely. Keep in mind that when you say something publicly and read so much feedback, you are going to get every single kind of response. You may as well not read the feedback and just imagine "what is every possible way someone could respond to this?" There's really no difference. If you are seeking a consensus response, keep in mind that consensus easily changes one day to the next. Using large scale public feedback is very very tricky. Most people don't need to. Ask advice privately from people you trust and respect. I'm sure you'd do great with just that.

--When you express opinions or explain your stance on an issue, it reads better and makes you feel better if you are very humble and not too ambitious with your claims. This is just a change in the phrasing and mood of the text and careful clipping of the scope on everything you say. Unless you are absolutely 110% sure that what you're saying is correct and you're willing to defend exactly what you said to the death (even if you wrote ambiguous things and said things you didn't mean to), then you should be as humble and as limited as possible. You should act like you are willing to change every opinion you have, or perhaps go farther than that and act like you want to change every opinion you have, even if you don't feel that way at all. You can be 99% sure that you're completely correct, but you should still act this way. You should do it because it makes it much easier to cope when it turns out you are wrong or when it turns out that everyone hates what you're saying (even if they can't prove that you're wrong and even if it's not wrong at all). And you act that way because people will respond to it better and like you more.

All sorts of very smart and successful people practice this, whether in academia or business. They have extreme and passionate sentiments hidden behind impenetrable walls of humble and limited public speech.

This is some spot on info. However, the travesty of it all is that anyone who actually needs this advice won't really understand it in the first place.

the anonymity of the internet makes people assholes.

I always appreciated your translations, and your work to get Korean news to us.

I'm sorry to see you're leaving. Good luck to you, fine sir.

I'll see you again in a few days Milkis.

If you post something in a public place that is going to be critized and then get mad when the critisism does happen its just silly to respond to it like this.

Take a step back, look at the broader picture and what you're saying/doing and don't look for and harp on just the negative comments.

Stop being silly.

If I were you I'd delete this blog asap, you're not acting with reason.

You can't post a ridiculously controversial opinion and then get mad when people flame the hell out of you for it...

This is the internet. Anonymity rules. Shit like that doesn't fly.

Fuck the haters.

This is sad. Not that you are leaving, but because i never though you were a whiner. You know, anyone in the spotlight has to stand up to unreasonable criticism. Thats the name of the game. If you can't take it. fine. don't whine about it on TL.

There should be a sub internet where people learn to take shit from others. So that they aren't just thrown into the Internet right away, which I must presume Milkis was since the internet will always be the internet and if you've been around it for more than a year and you are still affected by what people say then you should get yourself checked out.

Or maybe there should be a sub-internet where people learn to treat each other decently. I hadn't read the post that started this all off, but after doing so, it's pretty appalling what some people said; things that had nothing to do with anything Milkis had put out there.

All the more reason why I appreciate TL.
