Please reconsider! Yeah I also have the same feeling about that, it's a pity that you forgot all the support you got and focused on the negative aspect... but I guess it's your choice, I will really miss your coverage of the korean scene though .

So you posted a very elitist sounding speech (well, you even titled it elitist yourself) about bw and basically shit on every other esport title out there. Suprise, community backlash! This is the internet, people WILL critize you for talking negative about things they like, people will call you names, dont tell me you didnt realize this before? And you do what in response? just quit it all? Seriously, thats just cowardly, no other word for it. It seems like you never had any passion for this at all if you wont even stick up for what you said and just decide to quit overnight.

This is really stupid, flaming countless communities then crying when they flame you back.

The difference between Milkis and the others who have been criticised is that for a long time, he did everything for free, through his own passion and hardship. Without Broodwar, he wouldn't have become a translator at all. Others like iNcontrol and Total Biscuit are getting paid for what they do and probably earn a decent amount of cash and money can act as something to keep you motivated. There is a large difference between doing something voluntarily, and doing something as a job. Let's say you worked in a charity shop for 4 years, and you poured blood sweat and tears into doing the best job possible. Suddenly, a year later, everyone starts calling you terrible at your job and that you are a cunt face. How demotivating would that be? Would you want to continue working for free in that environment with so many hostile people? Put yourself in his shoes.
What's even more saddening is people's content with abusive words and bashing on the internet. When people get upset from things said to them on the internet, saying 'grow a pair' is incredibly disrespectful, and essentially is your way of saying 'its ok to be abrasive and mean behind your monitor because everyone should be able to handle it.' What does that tell you about the community? People with very unhelpful comments are getting upvoted on Reddit so this isn't 'the vocal minority'. People simply think its ok to flame someone abrasively and say 'Apparently, the dude has been locked in his room for his entire life.' - Atomaka 13 points.
I generally follow the rule 'only say something if you would say it to their face' and people need to not tolerate abusive behavior. Call it trolling, call it 'teh interwebz' but it simply has to stop. A great person and translator has disappeared.

Sad anyone feel like they has to leave this but if you can't handle the pressure / angry people on the Internet I do think you need to quit. I have absolutely nothing against you but it's not like Internet is going to change for you so I guess this is for the best. I don't think there is anyone who doesn't have their haters. I don't know why did you think everybody would love you. This is like you are giving into the haters and letting down your followers. A lot of people liked you, they are usually just the silent majority.
I do hope you will stay in background of korea scene, I cant see you abandoning it completely if you have done it for such a long time.
Be happy ^^

I really appreciate all the hard work you've done for community Milkis, but seriously, you need to man up. Not sure if its a culture thingy or personal, but you have to stop acting like a girl and being so apologetic about everything. Just ignore haters I'm sure they are overwhelmed by the good people who think you are a big asset to a community. It's the Internet for Christ sake...

Fuck everyone who made this happen. Milkis, you are fucking awesome. i am ashamed to be associated with the people who forced you to do this. May you have the best of luck in the future with whatever you do!

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't understand where this OP comes from :o I always thought you were a respected figure ?
I guess you can't handle being suddenly a popular figure, which will bring trolls and haters automatically, and that can't be hard. (when I say you can't handle don't get me wrong, basically no one can handle suddenly being popular, which means unknowns will hate you for no real reason).
I think you just need to step back and do what you want to do, just accept the irrationals critics as a part of the world, learn how to ignore that to focus on the positive side of things. I'll re-say that I don't understand this tho, because in my eyes you were always respected and loved everywhere I looked.

nvm thought you were someone else

This is how I feel about it. He should understand that a lot of people will be upset with him when he flames their biggest interests. And when he made that post he should have answered to the critisism instead of deleting all of his accounts.

I hate to see you go, despite not agreeing with your opinion. However, to be completely honest if you're having this much problems with the scene and it causing health issues, exhaustion and you truly don't have time it's probably for the better and you will thank those for demotivating you later because of it. Don't come back if you're having these kind of problems.

I realize this is cold, but to be honest, my first reaction was to be happy that we will be getting a stronger KR translator at MLGs if he quits.

Did you even read the OP?? It's not the game. It's the people! People that make judgements without any proper base. I would dare to say people that also comment anything they want without reading what Milkis say. Thanks for proving Milkis point.
Milkis - I hope you reconsider your stand but if you think that what you are doing is good then don't worry about anyone else.
Do like the honey badger, milkis.
