just so everyone knows this is not about SC2 ghosts but about the fucking ghosts that i swear live in my house...I hadn't noticed it ever after a month or so here...but then tonight I was playing smash bros. when I heard something that sounded like scratching in the wall, not a big deal mice have been known to get into walls before so that didn't have me worried...until it grew MUCH louder and frantic. it was then followed by shuffling feet, everyone else is asleep and I have never heard them even if they are up...so needless to say I'm now locked in my room watching star trek as loud as it will go

So TL anyone else have scary shit like this happen?

on top of all that my classes start tomorrow at 8 am and I now can't sleep

I grew up in an old house as well. They just make noises and have junk between the walls. It can be scary sometimes, but use logic and it all fades away. =) Get some sleep.

When I first moved into this house, we thought there was a ghost. Weird sounds, there was a window that had a light draft. Not noticeable immediately, but it was enough to give that light woosh feeling like someones walking into the room. I spent a lot of my first weeks here waking up that feeling. Was really frustrating.

You just have to get comfortable in your new place. If you really feel like it's a ghost, google search some little things you can do to 'ward' them off. If you believe in ghosts, you may be able to trick yourself into getting it out of your mind. Placebo-ish.

My fiance really started buying into the ghost thing, so I found something online that said to clap in all the corners of the house, something about ghosts liking open space or something and it ridding them off. I explained it to her in better detail, and after doing it it gave her some peace of mind.
Good luck! ^^

It's the team liquid Horror thread, it'll take your mind off of your ghosts though.
Have you considered the MMO-Champion forum? You are just as irrational and delusional with the right portion of nostalgic populism. By the way: The old Brood War was absolutely unplayable

Don't worry about it bro. Ignore the sounds whether they're from ghosts or not. They're just sounds. If the ghost appear in front of you don't worry, you'll get unconscious and forget about it the next day.

In australia, we have possums in the walls and roof. They occasionally make shrieking noises that are so loud is pretty unbelievable. I'm pretty used to them now but, if you've never heard them before they scream like someone is being stabbed, and then afterwards make a lawnmower-like noise. They also claw at the inside of the walls and so on.

Point is, they make scratching noises and sound like someone is stabbing someone else.

Haha this is so true, possums make the craziest noises in the walls, we ended up finding a mother and her babies in there lol.

Huk got totally ninja'd xD

I've had a few experiences that I can't figure out reasons for, here they are:

1) When I was ~9 years old a few years after moving into the city I was at my friend's house in the basement with him(also 9) and his brother(15), we were the only people home as his parents were out shopping. His dog comes downstairs with his ears down and a weird look to him as if he had just been disciplined/yelled at/whatever, not a huge deal. However, shortly afterward we here a moderately loud bang which makes us a bit worried, we tried to convince his brother to come upstairs with us but he wouldn't because he was playing super smash bros (original(I just realized how ironic this is considering you were playing super smash bros)) so we both grab pool cues and head upstairs.

About half way up his stairs is the door to his house and a small landing, then the stairs up to the main floor, we noticed that there were some unfamiliar shoes. However, we didn't think much of it at first. We continued up the stairs and looked around the main floor, we found nothing. However we heard the same noise coming from upstairs so we started to head up, our pool cues in hand. We only made it just past the half way landing on this staircase before we saw what looked like a foot with a sock on it stepping towards the stairs, assuming it was a robber we RAN our ASSES back downstairs and watched the stairs up to the door until his parents came home from the store, we never saw anyone leave. The shoes weren't there anymore when his parents got home.

As a side note on this story, his older brother(the middle brother) used to wake up and go down to the main floor, you could hear him from the basement if you were sleeping over and he would just talk to nothing. We'd ask him what he was doing and he would just say talking to the people then go back to sleep. According to his oldest brother and parents this wasn't exclusive to when friends were over.

2) I'm 11 years old, I'm at home babysitting my brother and we're watching hey arnold. (don't hate) We're sitting in our living room, and our dog starts barking at the corner out of nowhere, we had no idea what she was barking at and got worried, shortly afterwards the T.V. started flashing green and blue and we were frightened so we took our dog and ran out of the house to our neighbor's house where we stayed until our parents got home.

Neither of us to this day have any idea what made our dog start barking, although there could be some explanations for the T.V.

3) It's 4 am on a hot summer night, I've just finished a wow session and I'm in grade 10. I grab a glass of water, and head upstairs to brush my teeth. My dad doesn't have a dishwasher so he does his dishes by hand and then puts them in a holder to dry. I'm in the middle of brushing my teeth when I hear what sounds like all of the dishes crashing to the floor so I think to myself "Shit gotta go clean that up." I go downstairs and the dishes were just fine, except that there was another cup (we have 6 of this type of cup but after I grabbed my water, 4 of them were in the cupboard and 1 was in the stack of dishes) sitting on the counter right where I always fill up my water (there's a little spot that won't get hit if I open the microwave door which I use)

I assumed that I had simply forgotten to get water but noticed there wasn't a cup in the stack anymore and only 4 in the cupboard but I still wasn't convinced assuming that I had left a cup upstairs from the night before I filled it up with water and returned to go to the washroom then sleep, upon getting into the washroom I found my cup full of water on the counter meaning that I did in fact bring it upstairs and this cup should've still been in the stack.

Just kinda weird, not sure why that would ever happen.

4) A few weeks ago I was meeting my brother at his school to walk home together so we meet there and walk home with a mutual friend of ours whom we've known for ~10 years. We get to the park in front of my house when my brother spots our neighbor's dog had gotten out (happens frequently) and says he'll go bring them back. Our friend and I decide to just head in since bringing the dog back is really only a 1-person job as it's extremely friendly so we head into my house. We had taken our time on the way back and assumed my brother would be in already when we got there. When we got in we heard our bathroom sink turn off and assumed he was in the bathroom, however he wasn't there.

We looked all over the house and couldn't find him so we went out to look for him and found him sitting on my neighbor's porch with the dog waiting for them to get home. Our friend and I both heard the sink turning off with no reason explaining why it would happen as nobody else was home.

Just some weird things that happened in my life, maybe somebody has some explanations or will enjoy the read.

The residence closed a few month later when campus direction finally acknowledged the cockroach infestation. Then they fumigated it during summer holidays. Then they re-opened it.

A girl in my high school thought she had ghosts in her house...

Turns out it was a black family living in the attic.

As opposed to a brown or white family? Is one spookier (see what I did there) than the others?

Either that, or this is an attention thread. However, I must admit that if I were in your situation I would be pretty terrified.

Squirrels aren't nocturnal. It was probably a vampire squirrel sharpening its fangs in preparation for tonight.

You can get a Priest to Bless the house or you can bless it your self using sage Google can tell you how. If your house is haunted it may just piss the spirit off but ethir way you will know if you are actually being haunted or not.also depending on where you live their are parnomal investagtors out there that can help.
Id rather just kill you and call it a day.

if you can catch the spirit in a freezer it will solidify and become corporeal and then you can thaw it and fry it in a pan and eat it for dinner. it will give you significant stat boosts.

so i see that OP "Sega92 " hasn't made any new posts in last 2 - 3 days. I think the ghosts got him. If he doesn't return, i say the ghost definitely got him, if he makes new posts, it is still highly probable that he is now demon possessed... i say we ban him to be safe.

There are too many ghosts in this thread..

These posters have all been infected. They may look fine now, but it's a matter of time before they turn into ghosts. This entire thread must be purged.

I actually have some fun stories for all of you.

Grew up on a farm in the middle of nowhere. We are pretty sure there are at least two different things haunting the place. One inside and one outside. First the mostly normal but not that weird.

-At night there is always the feeling of being watched when you are outside. This could be ingrained for just that area but I don't get this feeling anyway else.

-Indoors you can hear footsteps going up and down the stairs at night.

-My mother used to can fruit/vegetables. One day ALL of it went bad. Every can, even from different years/batches.

-Ever seen Signs or Jeepers Creepers? Yeah, we have a barn. Both of my brothers, my mother, and myself, have all seen something standing on the barn at night. Multiple times. We only recently revealed this to each other to find out we weren't the only ones to have seen it. My dad has never talked about it.

Now for my grandmother's house. My Uncle actually died there due to his body finally giving out from constant drug abuse.

-My mother when she was younger told me about her old bedroom in the basement. She won't tell me what happened in there but when I dated a Wiccan she told me to be careful because of what happened in there. Apparently the police help her and my grandmother rip that room apart when she was in her teens.

-My sister in law was at the far end of the house and looked down the hall to see a shadow standing in the kitchen which proceeded to walk into the living room. As a note, all the lights were on nice and bright when this happened.

Now for my uber creepy one. I will preface this by saying that I am an insomniac. I wake up at least 4-5 times a night. Irony being when I actually sleep entirely through a night, I feel exhausted the next day. Fun thing is, I can be dreaming, wake up, go to the bathroom, grab some water, and lay back down and start dreaming the same dream as if I had just paused it.

So there I am laying in bed, wide awake. I had been doing so for an indeterminate amount of time, roughly an hour or so by internal clock. I grab my phone and check what time it was, about 3:30. I go to lay my head back down when something catches my eye in the corner of the room. I squint a little to see a little better. I see what looks like a face in the corner of the room. Now underneath said face, it appeared to have definition. Kind of like how you can tell where objects are in a dark room based on the level of darkness compared to objects further away. As if it had a body. I grab my glasses and put them on. I see an oval head, long horizontally as opposed to vertically. The face looked like one of the two drama masks (comedy/tragedy) except with a blank expression. On each cheek was a small point-side down orange triangle. After a second of "Wtf am I staring at" it clicks in my head and I sit bolt upright in bed. When I do so, it MOVES towards me. As it does so I swing my fist through where its head was. BOOM, disappears. I immediately turn on the lights, get out of bed, and go to the living room. Once there, I flip on all the lights, put my back against the wall staring down the hall, and watched bad infomercials until the sun came up. I still refuse to sleep in that house and stay with friends in town instead. Did you know that you can buy a sawhorse with only three legs, therefore it is stable on any surface? It also has a badass clamp. Buy yourself a jawhorse today!

There ya go. Those be my ghost stories.

i'm scared
I have one though: one night when I was really young, a really loud toy police car in my closet turned on randomly at like 4 am. Me and my bro (we shared a room) bolted out into my parents room. Still no explanation lol.

lol, (disregarding whether or not that previous post was PC or not, iunno the rules in teh USA) I came home early from a family dinner once with my sister, she said she heard noises downstairs and got scared and wanted me to check them out. Being the tremendous ass I am I told her they were ghosts and that she should check them out herself, naturally she refused. About 5 mins later the rest of the family got home, and my older brother went straight downstairs to find about 8 Aboriginals who had broken in, raided my dad's beer fridge and were proceeding to party like it was 1999 in both mine and my brothers bedrooms.

Meh, don't mind it, i'm betting you probably don't truly believe ghosts exist, so just force your rationality to take over and ignore the sounds.

Brings to mind a quote from somewhere (a philosopher of some sort ^^) "I don't believe in ghosts, but i'm still afraid of them"

Also, offering the spirit three fiddy is a good idea.

What are you on about dammit?

If you give it three fiddy it'll come back for another three fiddy the next day.

My old house had four floors - the top two were new-ish, having been refurnished and renovated somewhat recently before we'd moved in. The two floors that were belowground, however, had never been. The basement especially - where the rest of the house was drywall and a nice sort of lilac colour, the basement walls were made of wood, and everything barring the ceiling was covered in red carpeting with a black spidery pattern. There was an old bar counter sort of area, the boiler room, and a storage room kind of hidden off to the side. All in all it was pretty awesome actually, thinking back, although all I remember about it was being creeped out whenever I was down there.

Anyway, at the corner of the basement was a doorway that led to a guest bedroom that was decorated the same way as the upstairs rooms, kind of a refuge from the macabre red of the basement. For the most part we'd been using it as extra storage space while we were living there, but after my sister was born she eventually took over my room and I was relegated to the basement bedroom. I was about 10. As you might imagine it was pretty creepy living down there by my prepubescent self.

One of the first things I noticed was that the crappy metal Ikea bunk bed I slept in would constantly rattle. Well, not really rattle... it was more of a tapping sound. It sounded like someone was tapping some sort of small metallic object on solid wood. The rattling noise would come and go for a few seconds each time, almost every night. I slept on the bottom bunk while the top was used for storage stuff and my parents rationalized that something on top wasn't stable and was knocking against something else. So, to test this, I took everything off the top bunk and stuffed it into the closet or threw it on the floor. This night, and for every night thereafter, the tapping started coming from underneath the bed, where absolutely nothing was stored. It was also incredibly consistent in being there every night when I was alone, but whenever I had friends over or told my parents to come down (pussy ) to listen to the noise it would be gone.

The second thing was pretty similar to the first. About half a year after I'd moved down there and sort of gotten used to sleeping with ghosts (as I liked to think), a new noise popped up, this one coming from behind the headboards. It was kind of a quieter, more insistent tapping, but in many ways was the same noise. I brought it up with my parents later, who of course looked around as I had and found nothing except for the circuit breaker panel on the wall. We opened it up and found... a huge nest of wasps. Now, not only was I living below ground in a room with narrow, unopenable windows, but as I'm sure most people know, circuit breaker panels aren't exactly easy to get into.

IIRC we actually had to hire someone to take it out and I slept in the living room for awhile.

A wasp nest in an unlikely location isn't exactly supernatural, but I always felt it was connected to the last thing of note that I remember, which was the strangest by far.

One night, I was awoken by a bright light flooding into my room. I sat up in bed and looked to my bedroom door which was wide open. The basement lights were on and there was a short, blurry (which was weird - I used to wear night contacts) silhouette framed in the doorway. It made some kind of humming/buzzing sound. I remember I said something like "mom? what do you want" and somehow went back to sleep after hearing no reply I guess, because I don't remember anything else about it. The next morning I asked my family if anybody randomly went downstairs to wake me up last night and of course nobody did.

TL;DR some vaguely interesting things happened to a TLer a long time ago
