I have start hating these unpausers on ladder. Someone calls me or is knocking on door and I ask that they could wait small time. Then they resume instantly and start insult, when they win due that :/
Like this guy:
+ Show Spoiler +He is about to attack with his 4gate, when someone calls me and I ask him wait. I try to pause, but he resumes immediatelly. Then i go speak phone and he has already managed to get up my ramp. Then he starts insult me and I go hide Nexus in frustration... after game he send me message: StriKeR: n00b StriKeR has reconnected. StriKeR: before asking for favours, u have to be mannered yourself FIRST wiser this time, I'm not gonna reply anything
Have anyone else encountered some annoying unpausers on ladder too? I would like to practise in ladder, not get my points higher :<

Happened to me while this guy was 2gate proxying me. I was winning the zealot micro battle, when someone calls me. Needless to say, the cheeser unpaused when i said "sec please, phone". Tried to micro with 1 hand, but i lost -.-

Well I usually wait 30s-1minute, but only if the opponent asks politely and says the reason. Otherwise I'm not obliged to accept anyone's "wait for me I need to poo or sth" requests.
|
well in bw if i had to pause the game real quick in a heated game on iccup and i found that the opponent had unpaused to his advantage lets just say i had my ways of getting even :o

Setup your phone for voicemail
|
If someone asks nicely I'll keep it paused for a while, depending on how I feel. If they just pause though, and don't say anything I usually ask wtf is up and if they don't reply in like 10 seconds, I unpause.
Can't really help it though.

It happens all the time its kind of annoying, but I can understand where they are coming from.

the word is immature* also the person playing you has no obligation to sit on a paused game. sure its a little bit more manner to, but why start a game of starcraft 2 if you're going to be interupted. Let the phone go to voicemail, put your closed headphones on and deal with stuff after the game, thats the way i do it anyway

I know that this may seem like a small thing to you. So forgive me in advance if it is trivial and you didn't want to hear it, yet I have to tell you. It's spelt > .......... Immature ..........<

bnet is full of immature *insert insult here*. It's always been like this, and it always will be. Just gotta deal with it bro :/

This happened yesterday where just after the worker split I paused to get the door, and when I come back the game's resumed and I find ive banked up 200 minerals.
So pissed off and panicked I attempt to cannon his main (PvP steppes) which fails. He types "you lose" to which I am even more pissed off.
So I cannon my ramp shouting profanities at him while taking a secret expansion at his third, he goes 3 gate robo and camps outside my base with a big gateway/immortal army and says "gg". i force field and cannon turtle good and proper and start squeezing out colossi off 2 robotics. Eventually I rush out with my 8 colossi and crush his army to which he replies "you have gold?" to which I reply "FUCK YOU"
it felt good

In my experience, people use the Pause button for griefing a lot more frequently than they use it legitimately. If you pause the game, I immediately respond with "?", and you had better type in the reason for the pause within 5 seconds or I'm unpausing it. Even if it's just a bridge like "sec" to precede the reason, just type in something so I know you're not just being a jerk. If it's a legitimate reason I'll wait about a minute or so.

Doesn't make any sense. You just end the game without any real profit from it, to earn some ladder points, which will be anyway evened out in time... and of course always type reason, if want pause.

This exactly. I get BM paused way more then I get BM unpaused.

But its a little more mannered if you do. If some1 pauses they have a reason for pausing. I don't understand how some1 could use the feature as a way of grieving...aren't they just ruining their own experience too? The only time I unpause instantly is when I'm clearly about to win, in which case yes they're doing it to be annoying. If its like the beginning of a game its pretty bm to unpause for some1. Just screams "desperate for ladder wins" to me, pretty pathetic.

I've had someone pausing randomly without saying anything on ladder. Because I understand that sometimes there are emergencies, I wait for him patiently. About 5 mins later, he comes back and unpauses without saying anything.
Terrible manners.

Its not bm because guess what? My schedule may not work with yours, guess you shouldn't of pressed the "find game" button....it's also not my fault for someone "inconveniencing" you by coming to the door or calling your phone or anything. You pressed "find game", deal with the consequences.

I've always been of the opinion that there should be a timer on how long before the OTHER player, (non-pausing one) can resume the game. Just 45 secs or something.
Never happened to me, but I'd rage pretty hard, and probably demand a re-game xD

Yeah, I'm the same way. Also if you take longer than 90 seconds, I say "I'm gonna unpause now" and then unpause. We all have lives and stuff to do, but StarCraft is a fast-paced game. If something more important is happening, it'll probably be okay if you lose twelve ladder points.

I second this, i myself hate when someone pause the game without apologizing and giving reason which is legitimate. However i hate when someone ring at the door so i go, sec doorbell and the opponent unpauses immediately. Or i want to answer phone if it is important just to say i call later or manage the thing really quickly.
