How can I calm down faster between games?

I've been finding the past few weeks since I got demoted to platinum that i'd go on tilt for a good couple games.

I'd play ok for a few games but if I tried to play game after game I play worse and worse simply being sloppy in my early game especially.

I've settle on certain build orders so am more consistant earliar game except in ZvZ which i've not had many off this past day. Anyway thats helped a bit. But this past 2 days i've tried to calm myself down between games and wait for my heart rate to settle as I get really pumped towards the ends of my games.

But it seems to take quite a few minutes between every game. Currently i've been trying to just sit still and slow my breathing. And trying to work the tension out of my shoulders a bit and drinking some cold water.

But what other things do ppl do to get themselves settled to go into the next game with sharp focus?

I remember a day[9] about this a long time ago and something recently what other then that?

Ty in advance.

Think about a cloud, a lone cloud, floating, changing, light, cool air, blowing on the cloud, now the cloud is near you, you reach out to it, it's the cloud of your adrenaline, of your past, maybe even rage of games you've lost, your childhood perhaps...

See what I did there, I didn't answer your sentiment in a serious manner but rather took it lightly and joked about it. That's what you should do in between games, don't take it so seriously, if you get emotionally invested into a game, you can become stressed and then your heart starts pounding.

Take a break between games, do some physical exercise which is important and get your mind off it.

Stop and watch your replay. Not only will it give you time to calm down, you'll often find the reason you lost was a mistake you didn't even notice when actually playing - and this guarantees you won't make the same mistake in your next match.

I was following you up until the last sentence. No it doesn't guarantee anything, especially if the mistake was mechanics-based.

Watching the replay is nice, but analyzing too much usually overshadows your real problems. If adrenaline/negativity seems to mess with your mechanics, you just gotta mass games on adrenaline/negativity and get used to playing with it. Psychologically, your memories and habits are kind of linked by states of mind, i.e. you recall your strategies made while happy best while you're happy and you recall your negative thought processes best when you're negative. But then if you remember how to be good while you're negative, then you have no weaknesses.

Also, print out a bunch of courage wolf images and tape them all over your room.

I generally tab out and read something informative or funny on TL for a few minutes after a game. Then tab back in and que up and read a little more while waiting for an opponent matchup.

Hope this helps.
Just a simple guy, going wherever this journey takes me.

After every loss punush yourself by doing 20 pressups.. calms you down and gets you exercise. Also makes you play harder so you dont have to do the pressups xD.

Alternatively you could just take a short break and make some coffee or tea. Or indulge yourself with some self massage

I take the pushup thing a step further. I first watch the replay and focus on one bad thing I did that game. Then I will do my pushups while repeating to myself "never do X again".

people make fun of my girlie music when i stream, but its very soothing to me as well, much more so than getting all amped up on some faster/more exciting music. music could be what youre looking for!

Thats so... Wrong. It's a a game threat it like one, but if you need an excuse to exercise it's okay. But if you do that just entirely to stop making mistakes in your game, then you should stop doing it.

Why is it "so... Wrong"?

Please explain the ethical system you espouse in which that type of self-motivation is wrong. Games shouldn't be taken seriously? Starcraft is inherently a game of competition, if you don't get better, then you... don't get better...

I just don't see your logic at all.

Ah, just to clarify, i'm not getting angry its more that i'm too pumped, adrenaline is pumping even if I win(probably more so cos of excitment).
Ice cold water seems to be helping. Will try to watch my replays while slowing my breathing.
