Instrumentals are very solid and the mastering is good though.

So in terms of their music from what I've listened to, there is nothing that sets them apart from the rest of the masses. In terms of sound quality, however, they sound great and as sob3k said, it's been mastered really well.

But, just thinking about it, they'll probably become big just because of their sound, I mean Sonic Syndicate is huge now and they suck donkey balls. To be fair Logan, what these guys are doing as musicians is a lot closer to music than a lot of stuff you identify as good. I listen to a lot of stuff you do, and I cant stand any of it. Talking about gagging on the penises of dead bodies isn't my idea of good music lol >.< EDIT: I do like these guys :D

Brutal Death Metal was created to be extreme and those lyrics help them achieve it. My taste isn't limited to just BDM, as I love all genres of metal INCLUDING metalcore, and genres like indie rock, some rap, classic rock, post-rock etc. The fact of the matter is that no matter how good their musicianship is, what they are playing has been done to death already. Theres no reason to give these guys a listen over any other metalcore band.

And a lot of people are saying the genre is getting old and hasn't evolved enough. Who were the bands that got metalcore going? I believe Converge was one of the first bands in the hardcore genre, would they also be considered metalcore?

This is taken from wiki now: Metalcore is a fusion genre combining various elements of extreme metal and hardcore punk. The name of it is a portmanteau of the names of the two genres. The term took on its current meaning in the mid-1990s, describing bands such as Earth Crisis, Deadguy and Integrity.[3] The earliest of these groups, Integrity, began performing in 1988; some modern practitioners of the genre include Killswitch Engage, Underoath, All That Remains, As I Lay Dying and The Devil Wears Prada.[4] Metalcore is distinguished from other punk metal fusions by its emphasis on breakdowns:[5] slower, intense passages conducive to moshing.[6] The genre has had a saturation of bands in the last five years. Sepultura has been credited to "lay the foundation" for the genre.[7] http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metalcore Edit: Also, Converge are more one of the roots of Mathcore than Metalcore, iirc

Metalcore used to be a genre that revolved around heavy dissonant music that used hardcore breakdowns, but did not abuse them like Converge, Starkweather, Botch, Coalesce, but has now begun to describe bands that heavily abuse breakdowns are fluttery melodic riffs ripped right from At The Gates. Converge is considered metalcore, but don't expect any new metalcore to sound anything near their greatness.

As others have mentioned, OP's band sounds good, but not enough to make it stand out from all the other metalcore out there.
