Blogged because I'm not sure of the exact rules on poll threads.
I'm wondering if, for a lot of people who watch Starcraft, the purpose is to look at the players and go "whoa I wish I could do that when I'm playing!" So, to get the most of those moments, you cheer for and follow the top player of your race, like an idol or role model. That's not really the case for me. I play Terran, mostly SC2 now, but I don't always like watching Flash play, and I get bored too easily to copy his turtling style (although I do like his aggressive bio TvZ). Anyway I like to watch fantasy and Effort, even though they don't win all the time they usually produce good exciting matches for me. Which kind of viewer are you?

I have had dreams about jaedong although i play more protoss than any other race I cheer for bisu hell yeah!!! when he tears shit up in a PvZ it cant get better than that..... but im a D- player..

I just cheer for whoever I want to cheer for regardless of race.
leta, fantasy, jaedong, stork and bisu are probably my top 5 though. Hwasin used to be in this list

I had to choose the last option as I play random and cheer for Really. After seeing him play TvP on Match Point with medics I can't help but cheer for him in every game he plays.

I'm a Protoss who cheers for Stork/Jaedong/Leta.
I'll generally cheer for a Protoss player over a non-Protoss, though.
And I cheer against macroterrans because goddammit macroterrans.

Almost always played Terrans but if it was a Stork vs Flash match i would cheer for the DINOTOSS, just because he's awesome ;]
all in all , i cheer for players who can surpass the limits of race or machup.
that said if i would have to do a longer list of most favourite players, even excluding such obvious picks as Boxer oov or nada, the list still would end up kinda terran heavy

I play Terran. I like Fantasy, Leta, and Baby (when his rainbow socks are on).
Stork and Jaedong are terrifying.

I don't understand why there's so many Bisu fans. His play is uncreative and his only interesting point is his multi-tasking. Nowadays, there are so many players with good or even better multi-tasking, and accordingly, I don't see how Bisu is so special a player anymore.
Flash is a brilliant player, an absolute genius of the game. His play is so uncompromising and dominant. He seeks every advantage that is available to him and never lets go. He wins at any cost.

Julyzerg all the way! Tushin! I mean, good god, the man's style is so damn eclectic and off the wall, it's probably only matched in sheer weirdness by watching Leta or Effort play.

I wanted to play zerg so I always cheer for tha JD
but I am actually terrible at zerg and stick with 1a2a3atoss, so not-zerg+JD

The race isnt a big determining factor for me, but I think being more familiar with the race helps appreciate brilliant plays, so there is a nonzero bias. I usually cheer based on who I think is the better player and/or personality, non-assholes etc. Ah who am I kidding, it's all based off looks!

Yes, I just find it more interesting to watch. I can more easily relate to their situations which makes it more impressive when they get out of tough spots. If a Terran or Protoss makes a strong comeback I can see it but not nearly as deeply as with Zerg.
Edit: Usually I only watch VODs involving Zerg too.

Zerg, Savior. I kinda stopped following broodwar around the time Jaedong was on the rise. I think Savior's games vs Bisu were one of the few times I stayed up till 4 o clock my time to watch them on some shady Korean program. I think it was called Afreeca? I also stayed up to watch a zvt of his but I can't recall who it was against. That was the first and only progamer I really idolized and watched every single one of his games. I was always happy to see him win, it was badass.
I also followed Stork's games pretty heavily but it's harder to follow somebody who's race you don't play, you have less understanding of the nuances of their game. My game was pretty much modeled after the Savior 3 hatch muta style which gave me a real appreciation for how brilliantly he played because I knew how hard it was and how far away my play was from his. Damn... this is making me all nostalgic, I need to watch some zvt savior games asap.

After savior was falsely accused of being a douchebag I stopped really caring about specific players. So yeah I usually cheer for zerg and I don't really give a shit about toss/terran players (although flash is really good). Jju will always be my hero though.
