I'm kind of curious as to whether or not you have actually given this message to her yet. Is it going to be a mailed letter?
|
Letter breakup? Come on, just wait until you see her again... or call her on your new phone next week. This has to be one of the most detached ways of doing it!
|
Sounds like BS
Just tell her you don't like her that much -- because if you were digging her you would surmount these small difficulties.

You should call her on the phone since you apparently can't see her in person. A letter is like "..."
For what it's worth, you say "first off", but that really seems to be the only reason why . Obviously it's up to you, but if you're so busy are you really going to have time for a girlfriend who's closer anyway? I've never seen distance as a big reason not to have a relationship if you care about the other person and think she's interesting.
|
The beginning seems a little too much like a formal letter, or even a report. Gets better in the end I suppose, but come on man, a letter is no way to do this. At the very least wait until your next phone gets in
|
Yeah... no letter... over the phone or in person. Otherwise its just wimping out.
|
Mmmmm have you two been together long? This seems..pretty serious, you might want to talk with her about it first to see what she thinks about the whole distance thing before doing something this drastic.

1) that letter sounds like a letter I'd send to my cablecompany or w/e, way too formal
2) dont use letters for this kind of thing man, wtf..

Why did you ask for feedback then?

It's blog worthy. What's the big deal I am not asking for a reviser from team fuckin liquid man. I just wanted to write it somewhere..
Also she is such an innocent girl I want to let her down gently with as little drama as possible and I do not want to hear her cry over the phone..

What a cold way to break it off with someone. She's going to have a lot of questions, at least talk to her on the phone if you can't in person.

LOL what is this blog for then? And why so formal?

I really don't know right now leave me alone about my reasoning behind posting a blog jesus christ! I think I am just trying to find excuses for just not liking her..But I can't say to her because I must have led her on terribly.

should have sent her a break up text instead.

Really? Honestly? This is why you ended things with a letter? Cold man...

It's not cold, we can be friends..
|
I know its tough to see in your situation, but it really is pretty cold =(
|
i guess it beats the break up bat through your windshield.

Saying that you didn't want to hear her cry means you don't have the guts to face up to the consequences, and your letter was full of empty words and devoid of any actual emotion.

I guess he was trying to avoid the awkward cryingphest the telephone conversation would of become. A cold, but smart move by his part.
edit: wait a minute, you're that guy that made that thread. Wow...

letter was a terrible idea.
But if you've only seen her 4-5 times in person I don't think this is that bad. Sounds like a real infantile relationship in which case tactics like this aren't so bad.
Some people just stop calling/talking rofl.. at least you aren't as bad as them
|
Yea I want to end this early so it does not escalate into a shitfest where she ends up hating me. I'm sorry for a lack of background here guys I just wanted to write it somewhere.
|
Ethan, you have a big dick and you are destined for success. Trust me, I can tell by your letter.
|
man that must be a horrible letter to read
|
|
Mind saying how she took it at least?

You sent a fucking letter? -.- dude.....

wait for your phone to come then call her and talk about it. Its WTF if you do it over the letter and then say u can't call me during the crucial moment
|
I don't believe a letter is the best way to go about this in most cases. However, I can understand that other methods would be difficult (given the circumstances).
You obviously care very much for this girl, and I think you should consider trying to work things out. That is only my opinion, though. Good luck to you.

There's an epidemic of people making blogs with copies of things they wrote after they already sent/submitted it. I had a feeling this would be one of them which explains my question in the first reply of this thread.

WHY THE FUCK WOULD YOU ASK FOR FEEDBACK AFTER YOU ALREADY SENT IT???? For future break-up letters? You stole my line, lol. But honestly I think the OP is being a coward, not to call her or tell her in person. Me and my gf always agree that, if we are ever going to break up we would tell each other face to face.

I get a similar impression. It seems from your letter that you really look forward to your time spent with her and hate it when you're apart. That's generally a good thing in relationships.

Man I suck at breakups, so when I tell you this, don't take it seriously: I thought that sounded like a perfectly reasonable way to break it off. I really did.
|
at least leave a message on her answering machine.
or watch the movie "the breakup" and at the end be like... look they are friends, we can be friends too.
get creative yo.

I feel for you man. I think this breakup is harder on you than her based on your letter. Hopefully you can shape up for your next relationship.

Ok to all you douchebags who think this is a cowards way out let me tell you something. This girl has had an insane crush on me for 3 fucking years. I met her at a conference for a school club in high school and since then have only talked to her mainly through texting and just recently phone calls. She was the one that was so in to me all the time and she grew on me because she liked me sooo much. When we hung out in real life she was obsessed with me and I thought it was kinda cool and had some feelings for her. Basically she is not the person I thought she was after hanging with her a few times and want to just go back to being friends. She is being overly obsessed with me and i want her to snap the fuck out of it and grow up. You cannot like someone that much if you hardly know them ok?? Basically I found out my feelings for her were not a strong as I thought and I do not want to mislead her any more.
The first girl I truly liked did this to me in a harsh way (albeit over the phone) and to be honest I wish she wrote me a letter because when she hung up it was a worse feeling. At least this girl will have to time to think about what I told her and not become an emotional wreck over the phone when I'm like "ok cya click*".
I do feel pretty bad about this but I want her to learn the most from this because I think she is really cool, as a friend.
I'm pretty sure half the people that have posted here don't know the story/have no experience in the matter and I would not do this to someone that didn't need the wake-up call.
