Has anyone noticed that the perhaps Blizzard screwed up when they made the Scout and the Wraith?
What I'm talking about is this... the Scout's ground attack sounds like 5 bullets hitting something, and the air attack looks a lot like the Goliath missiles, while the Wraith has like a laser beam attack.
Who else thought that Terran was the one with projectile weapons while Protoss had the Laser like attacks?

That's what a tracer round looks like, sort of. And are there any other protoss lasers? Not really. Also the bullets are blue and look a lot like the energy crap that zealot blades/probe attack/dragoon ball has.

I guess, but still they behave like I think a Terran ship should behave... like the sound seriously sounds like the marine attack sound.

yeah.. protoss pretty much doesn't have a single laser attack lol (i guess interceptors sort of count) it's all just blue energy stuff
also clearly i play too much hon now.. since i was thinking of the sand wraith and scout heroes after reading the title >.<

Yeah man. Antimatter Missiles (The Scout's Air Attack) are like glowing blue missiles. Pretty cool if you ask me.

It's unfortunate that the scout is so useless, considering it has some of the more cool attack animations in the game. Oh well, time to go do some 2 stargate scout games in iccup then.

I did think it odd when I first started playing that the Scout had what appeared to be bullets while the Wraith had lasers. So there.

In the cinematics I don't think a wraith ever used the air to air missiles either. They were firing the lasers against air/space targets.

The scout has sight upgrades and speed upgrades. It was the "cheap" air unit before BW (corsairs) if you're going stargate instead of robo+obs. It doesn't deal very much ground damage. Sounds like it fits the definition of scout to me.

personally, i dont see anything wrong with wraiths lazering it up, but scouts shooting bullets is kind of awkward

I always thought the scout had a shotgun like ground attack. It would've been supported if they had splash, but oh well. Scouts are actually pretty good against air, especially big units.

And also, you need to be really lucky and face the worst players of all time. If you can get scouts in time, you should be able to stop the 2 fact (unless they have goliaths/a ridiculous amount of marines).

Well besides the scout having lame blue bullets, I don't like how Blizzard made 3 of the protoss projectiles look the same (arb, goon, cannon). I mean, at least BC shoots bigger lasers than wraiths. Arbiter should have more badass attacks (hehe sorry terrans) and scouts should fire colossus (sc2) - like lasers for both air and ground... totally cool.

scouts need to be abit cheaper, thats all. they are a good unit and could be useful if they didnt cost almost as much as a carrier.

Wraiths should be cheaper, or at least come with free cloak.

Yeah, I think if the scout could shoot a single attack for both air and ground (kinda like the muta i guess) that did a fair amount of damage (maybe 15) without splash, it would be seen a lot more in games and maybe even be used as a TR to carriers.

I just pictured... critical mass SC1 carriers....flying over a shitton of goliaths and turrets supported by tanks and vultures... mines scattered everywhere.
Our young Terran hero starts to micro those goliaths towards the carriers...until GIANT BLUE THINGS FLY OUT OF THEM AND ZAP EM TO SHIT!

Honestly, what's the point of making a unit called a "scout" when there is a faster air unit that can be produced for cheaper, and it's sight range isn't any more impressive either.....
If the Scout came with the speed and sight upgrade, I could see it being used a lot more. But that won't happen.....
