Please post any problems, suggestions, or general Feedback for the new Vod page in this thread.
The Vod page comes with a new Bittorrent tracker. The old tracker will still be available under http://www.teamliquid.net/tracker until we are sure the new one works smoothly and reliably (not that the old one ever did...). Most torrents will be added to both trackers during that time. It doesn't matter which one you choose to download from, but of course we want you to start using the new Vod page.
The new Vod page will be up to date with TLPD Vods. We aim to make this the fastest and most convenient way to get your daily VODs. The Small Vod Thread will still serve its function though for VODs that are not on TLPD (foreigner events, GOM, etc) and where VODs are faster online somewhere else.
Vod Page ToDo List:
- RSS feed for tracker - RSS feed for streaming vods - Hide game length and progress bar - Link games from TLPD to new vod page - Pagination in the Search view / Latest vod list everywhere

Looks really slick, I love the stage view.
Is there a way to get an older set to the "stage"? For example, if I wanted to watch one of the last sets of the WCG qualifiers, is there a way to get to that without going through the old VODs list with the + signs linking to the VODs? I don't really like the old list, as it reveals how many games are in the set.

Unfortunately not. This is a new feature in TLPD that is only available for newly added games. You can watch single older games in the stage though, just not the entire series. I should add a link for that in the old TLPD lists though.
|
Great job, going directly from one set to the next or previous set of the same series is really nice.
Why didn't you enable fullscreen though?

I wanted to help distribute some VODs so I uploaded a torrent onto the tracker, but it doesn't seem to be working at the moment. Did I upload correctly? Halp

Is there a ratiosystem so people still seed and don't just do hit and runs?

Ah, alright, awesome. I was just hoping that this wouldn't be overlooked, as it's the main reason I use the small vod thread over just looking through the nevake account's history. Is that latest section going to get larger and become paged or something?
|
Oh nevermind it works Zatic ^^

I know, but this new feature zatic & Co made would be better if there were ratio system implemented for members, or people would rather still use small vod thread.
The ratiosystem most private warez trackers use could be in handy. Many seeders=constant fast download. Good ratio = gives benefits for the users, ranks and status etc etc.
Just an idea. Nevertheless many thanks for the upgrade of the VOD section!!!!

I friggin love the new site Zatic.
I was just wondering if it was possible to have the players win-loss stats shown below their names (depending on the matchup). For example, right now my stage shows Mong (T) vs GuemChi (P) so below mongs name his tvp record would be shown and below GuemChi his pvt record would be shown.
|
I have no idea if it's feasible, but could you add a RSS feed? It would be superspecialawesome to get an update whenever new VODs are up. If there is already such a thing, please don't hesitate to enlighten me!

Any way to unspoil the game length? I really, really don't know how you could do that, unless Youtube allowed embedding without a progress bar, or you can somehow div a table on top of the bar (lol).

You can make a custom player which is on the list of things to do. I believe there are some scripts like this floating around for greasemonkey?

Only drawback is that Youtube makes the Youtube watermark twice as large if you don't use the original player - which does not support removing the time and progress bar. But we will make this spoiler free before the season starts.

I was thinking some type of rating system would be good? Not sure how to implement it thought, but I think having "hot vods" (most viwed, best rating given by people) could help people who can't watch all the games.
http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=52045
So it works something like this. Maybe a group of authorized people who watch games often can tagg vods as recommended? (a system more like the replay section).

I'm not seeing the problem - Set 3 is Really vs Killer. Set 1 is Haran vs Perfectman.

I dunno if this is what happened to you but sometimes, especially if you're on a slower connection, the javascript takes some time to load the relevant pictures. If you're clicking through the sets fast it may at times look like there are dupes. Just wait a second though and it'll load the right data.

hmm mightve been something wierd with my flashblock script then! sorry about that

Might be able to implement a recommended watch manually - they're usually noted in the LR threads these days

The Recommended Vods thread works especially because it's not a selected few that recommend games but anyone who just watched live. I am against something like "Hot Vods" which are viewed most since it will always be the Bisu/Jaedong/Flash/Savior games regardless of the game quality.
If someone can come up with a convenient way to do this I will make it happen.

(maybe have a quicklink from the vod page to recommend the game thats visible for saff only) It's manual, but it has immense benefits if someone's prepared to do it regularly (hi pholon lol )

Then have a section that ranks VODs based on recommends/views ratio. That way, Jaedong/Bisu VODs don't automatically shoot to the top of the list.

Glad I finally found the old Torrent Tracker - was scared for a second that I wouldn't be able to find any older VODs anymore. The new VODs page looks great!
Also, my personal thanks to Teamliquid and its friends for getting the community the VODs of almost all of the Korean TV games. These VODs and the TLPD are absolutely essential to me as a "commentator" of games and of course to many other fans too. Whoever is working behind the scenes on keeping these up should get huge props for doing it, even if they are less visible than the writers or famous players here. My deep thanks.

I have a feature request: can you also include a direct youtube link somewhere? I like to browse TL on my iphone, but I can't watch embedded media. However, iphones will open their youtube viewer if you click on a link to a youtube video (small vod thread was good about that).

The iPhone can't detect embedded Youtube videos? That is terrible wtf.
I can put a link there if the youtube player can't be loaded, would that help?
|
That might work. I should clarify that it can detect embedded stuff, but the browser has no plugins to display/load it with. At least,I think that's how it works, I'm not really an expert.

I was wondering if there is a possibilty to remove the Size column in the torrent info. I can see why it would be useful if youre on a slow connection to know the size but for me it only "spoils" proleague games. If size is a problem you can see it in whatever torrentapp youre using. Yes you can try not to look at it but so far im failing quite bad
Otherwise its an awesome new feature to the site.

I suggest to use the VOD tracker in the Broodwar forum.
But yes, spoiler-free content is prio no1 for the VOD page. I was thinking about a spoiler-tag or mouse-over popup or something like this for detailed information on the torrents.

The comments link needs to open in a new tab/window. I've clicked on it twice now during a video, not thinking it would reload the page.
Other than that, the vod section is simply awesome.
|
i posted this in the r&s thread for pl because i made a stupid mistake about that formatting, but the skt vs. estro vods have skt 3-1ing estro in the results segment rather than th eother way around. sorry if its too much of a hassle.

Two things that I noticed:
First, when you click on the youtube video it gets focus (say I want to click on the progress bar or the fullscreen button) and then when I click back to the javascript buttons on the side of the page ( like the next set button) I have to click twice because it removes focus from the video on the first click. Is there any way to fix this? This is on firefox 3.0.x by the way. I just checked and this doesn't happen on Safari.
Second, is there any way that we could have some sort of unspolier feature where the buttons say "next set," and "previous set" instead of 1,2,3 etc? I find myself putting my hand over the buttons if someone is up 2-0 or 2-1 when I click it.
Oh and the whole thing is awesome!

Hey again,
So I notice that the VOD page is a few days behind the matches as well as the youtube threads. Is the VOD page supposed to be more of an archive or do you see it becoming an effective means for people to watch games?

I didn't realize that you were doing the uploading as well. It's the Neveke account and not Baezzi's then? Are we still on bad terms with him?

What is the new one missing? I only added to the new one for the last couple of months, as did everyone else afaik.
Will make a torrent history for the new one tonight.

Is there any way to see a list of previously uploaded torrents?
I was trying to find the torrent for Nate MSL finals, but despite searching "Nate", "Nate MSL", "Nate Finals", "Nate Final" and "Nate Flash", I didn't get any results for the finals =/

I meant like all 5 pages, i.e. like a search function so when the VOD page goes to like 10+ you don't need to go through every page.

i don't know if this problem has occurred before but when i go to the vods section, i get this:
i'm using firefox 3.5.8 on mac os x 10.6.2 it happens with safari 4.0.3 (6531.9) too though.

It seems someone incorrectly added the Winners League games played earlier. I don't know too much about the TLPD so I'll leave it to someone with more experience to fix.
EDIT: Added a temporary fix.

The adding a torrent to the tracker page just hangs on me when I try to add something. It just gives me a Bittorrent Upload header and nothing else.
