i post sometimes because i want to help out (from a girl's pov), and the people who post the threads ask for help because they want reassurance -- at least that's what it seems like to me. so, i give them what they want. i feel like i've have the experience (from my own relationships and from frequenting a girl-dominated forum lol) to be able to give somewhat legitimate advice.

Personally I enjoy the advice blogs a lot. I was an RA for a freshman hall for three years (been graduated for a year now) and it's one of the biggest aspects of the job I miss. In such a position your advice mainly draws off personal experience, but there are several circumstances where you make a judgment call on something you've never seen before. Therefore, I try and limit my relationship advice to those under 23 so I'm not overstepping my own experiences (or if I am, not that far). Relationships are always a big topic since many younger college students try their hand at dating, and I always had a good time sharing the lawltastic blunders I've made in the past. At first I was surprised at getting requests for advice every couple weeks (in person), but for 50ish residents a year I suppose that's normal. It wasn't just getting together - I can name several occasions where a resident would be sitting in my room crying over a breakup. Relationship advice was evenly balanced between guys and girls. I will also give girls the prize for telling me the craziest things (like "this guy knocked on my door and asked my roommate to have sex. And they did! It's all YOUR fault!!!).
