I wake up and get some waffles and while that's happening, I turn on the TV to find myself watching the old ass Mortal Kombat film until it's time to go. I'll cut this part short because most people want to hear about what I tried rather than my journey over to the place. Anyway, there was no epic showdown between me and an EG member at some Bigfoot Networks booth but instead you have me becoming a tour guide to a bunch of people.
First game we tried was Red Faction: Armageddon. It was an okay game, I liked how there is some kind of open-ended aspect to it, for example, a player can take the GOD HAMMAR and wreck buildings with it crushing everyone inside or you can do it old school and use an assault rifle (yawn). Graphically the game isn't amazing but it isn't terrible, just passable. It just felt like I played this game already but with a different name.
Second game was this weird as hell title from Ignition Entertainment, all we did was fight in Persona-esque graphics and just beat the holy hell out of people and then walk out. I think the game was called El Shaddai
Third game was at Konami's booth where we tried this karaoke game where some of us sat down, rest stood up and started singing along with doing dance moves. People started to look inside the booth and were curious to see what the hell we were dancing to but it was some random songs and not Lady Gaga.
Fourth game was from our favorite developer, Tecmo Koei, famous for such franchises as Random Jockey Simulator, Ninja Gaiden, Other Weird Title, and last but not least, the greatest rental title of all time, Dynasty Warriors. I tried a Gundam game that had the same premise, engine, everything about Dynasty Warriors but with Gundams and I noticed people started watching me play so what I did was yell "GET GAMETRAILERS OVER HERE, I'M ABOUT TO DO SOME COOL SHIT" and I proceeded to clear areas using rigged combo moves and killing bosses with only one shot from beam rifle. The saddest part was I couldn't get the Wing Zero gundam so I had to use the Sand Rock along with the Heavy Arms as assist and the even sadder part was that the beam rifle doesn't even charge. I was so sad because I really wanted to show something cool for everyone who was taking pictures and watching me play. I even did commentary while playing and after I did the Twinkle Twinkle dance from Girl's Day and walked away to try Ninja Gaiden. Ninja Gaiden was never a hard series to me because I think the window for counter attacks is ridiculously huge, even bigger than the window in all of the Assassin's Creed games and in Dead or Alive games.
Fifth game was DC Online where I got people to watch us because I started raging at how my teammates were too busy afk'ing and letting Superman die to Kryptonite that Lex Luthor was using. They had really nice monitors but the question I had for them was Cross Platform play and they said that there's no plans for any.
The most interesting thing we did was probably the TV Split Screen from Sony. All you do is put on glasses and turn them on and it's instant 3D and also the split screen is PURE split screen and not some vertical line in the middle of the TV. We tried it with a prototype game along with the new Ratchet and Clank and it was insanely cool. Ratchet is a cool series by itself but I'm just not interested in it. I think it has better game play and graphics than most games out there but it would only appeal to me if it was ten dollars.
The Playstation Vita is the real deal. I think it's ready for release but they want more titles to launch with it. The handheld already has near PS3 graphics and the demo for Uncharted was actually fun.
We did stop by Nintendo's booth but it was PACKED. Kid Icarus and Zelda were being demoed but I didn't really care since I already tried them. I didn't get a chance to try the WiiU because it was only for show and level 2 access members can try it. Either that or there was a 5 mile line waiting to try it but I didn't get a chance to really ask because they were letting higher-up members try the system out rather than everyone else. Microsoft's booth was all Kinect bullshit that I don't care about.
I did try Final Fantasy XIII-2 but it wasn't a noteworthy experience because I grew angry at the battle system again which is what I thought was wrong with that game (along with a lot of different things). It was only a gameplay thing that we tried but it's the same shit as FFXIII. Also for those of you asking for ME3, you can watch the gameplay demo on GameTrailers. I didn't see Skyrim or Rage because they were behind closed doors and I don't have access to that. We did try other things but there either weren't noteworthy or they just weren't there. I did ask for Last Guardian for a lot of you interested in that but I didn't get any information on it other than "Wait for TGS".
