First and foremost: With a little bit of gentle coercion, I convinced my girlfriend to get SC2 ^^ She knows how much I'm into it, and she had played a tiny bit of BW with me back in the day. She played Zerg (she thinks the units are... cute...), and so now we'll get to play SC2 together (if she ever decides on a username). I'll get her addicted. Life is good
Also, the last few days have been huge milestones in my ladders. I play mostly team games, and I got promoted to master league for the first time with my main 2v2 partner I've been placed into master league several times in 2v2 and 3v3, but it feels so satisfying to put a lot of effort into a ladder and actually make that promotion.
Also, just last night, I finally got my 1000 Team Protoss portrait I'm one of those guys who actually likes portraits and silly achievements. I certainly recognize that they have no bearing on skill level, but I still think they're a cool little feature that make some people smile. (I don't farm portraits or anything, but I might play a few extra rounds as a certain race if I can get another portrait to open up. Just because.)
I'm also going to MLG Columbus with my younger brother and we're so... ridiculously... psyched
In real life news, I just got my master's degree from Rutgers University, and I'll be continuing my education, going for a PhD. I got my bachelor's there in Mathematics, my master's in Mathematics Education, and I'll also be studying Mathematics Education for my PhD. I am forever a Scarlet Knight ^^
I am a very happy man.

Nice! Was a thesis masters? If so, what did you work on?

use positive reinforcement. So when she does something right give her a candy or something like that. This method had extensive success with dogs and cats allready so chances are good it will work on humans too.
But you have to make sure that you dont give her too much candy or the wrong kind because she might get bigger.

What field in math are you looking to go into?

Haha I see what you did there Although those might get her even more interested in the pro-scene
She thinks Day[9] is a cool dude at least ^^ She likes the YouTube clips I show her (Trumpets, The Number J, etc.). One day I shall convince her to watch Daily #100.

Actually, I didn't need to do a thesis. For a masters in education, we had a field experience requirement (student teaching) for a semester... which was basically being a full-time teacher without pay while taking courses simultaneously. Pretty much the best (read as: worst) possible combination ^^;;. For my PhD, I'll obviously have to do a thesis though.
