IGN ftw. Can pretty much guarantee that when ro16 comes with all games played at a studio that the numbers will explode. Ign brought 16 players to their studios to make content and people are calling it the best production. Just wait till NASL goes live in the flesh no prerecording and people physically there. congrats to incontrol! Round of 16 happens over a weekend it represents a very small portion of the league time wise

wow. didnt watch much yesterday but watching a vod right now, sound quality is soooo terrible, i dont think i can even be bothered to watch =/ such an echoing tin sounding VOD.
Gawww NASL has the players why cant they deliver on the production, know what would be awesome seeing all the players from NASL in IPl. Because in terms of everything but the player pool IPL > NASL
IPL season 2 will be sweet though because all but 4 players have to qualify, wich is way more exciting IMO having qualifiers

And the sound quality needs to be fixed No. Absolutely not. Competitive starcraft (or ANY game for that matter) didn't get big because people made it entertaining. Its a competitive game. its about the competition and about the game. Players compete to find out who's the best of the best. And spectators watch because of that alone. If you are looking to purely be entertained go watch reality TV or some other over-produced crap. Please think about what you are trying to say... Hes right your thinking too small. The amount of people that like what your talking about amounts to about half of the Starcraft community that watches reports right now maybe. Wich amount to about 50k max watching a tournament at any given time ( usually it's far less. The 8k people that like that style watching the nasl yesterday ( and I'm sure some of the ones watching would just prefer entertainment) is a really small number in the grand scheme of things if reports wants to succeed it needs to find a nice middle ground ( like ipl) just because it's what you want doesn't mean that it's what most of the casual sc player or just a casual gamer in general who doesn't play sc2 but is interested in watching it wants. So I think you wrong in that regard more analytical may keep viewers but it's not gonna bring in new ones. NASL will not survive with it's current rating for very long i mean destiny gets about ad many viewers as nasl does. I think if nasl is pulling in less than 30k viewers a night in the coming months it will be very unlikely that it will succeed. Gsl wc had 300,000 viewers live and even that isn't considered incredible at Least for Korea,. So nasl can try to appeal to a minority and fail or find a middle ground appeal to a greater majority and hopefully succeed if they ever fix all the other issues plaguing the league Couldnt agree more, NASL is small potatoes right now i dont think they will beable to improve much about the show with the revenue they are bringing in right now, they would have to go out of pocket, i would say its worth it though. Honestly they should have made the prize pool significantly less in the first season and invested more in the actual production of the show, whats the point in having huge prize pools if no one wants to watch?
Also replace gretorp i dont think he is very user friendly in terms of getting new viewers and probably 50% or less of the viewers actually like him right now ( i think its probably alot less than that, most people would prefer someone else over gretorp) the way he talks and the words he uses are annoying , also he uses alot of fake excitement in his casts , he should work on sounding generally excited. I thought that maybe i could get used to him, but honestly i dont think its possible its been a week and a half and although hes improved hes just not the right style for the job. Gaw NASL if you could get one thing right make it be the casters, its really important, well actually fix your sound first then the casters.

There isn't a real middle ground with this issue. I'm not saying anything about what leagues should really do.. I was just trying to get the point across that while yes expanding and appealing to the masses is good, but it needs to be absolutely grounded in the importance of competition. (ie you cannot say IPL has better production and therefore it is better than the NASL, right now the NASL has better players competing for something more important (right now at least) so that is why it is better)
^^ thats really all I'm trying to say.

Well I'm not a fan of the casters other than djwheat for IPL, plus there's that whole having the entire bracket released on accident thing. But if they had the NASL players, better casters, and didn't get their entire tourny spoiled before a single game was played then I would love the IPL.

I'd like nothing more than to be a fan of the NASL and follow the games but when a majority of the time I can't even get the stream to work, well, that's a problem.
