I started playing Starcraft 2 a couple of days after release. I naturally picked Zerg as my race. At the time, my RTS experience covered playing the campaign in the Red Alert series. I played my first game, I won against a Terran player. I quickly skipped practice league and played my practice matches. I placed into bronze...
After 20 matches, I was 5-15 and pretty frustrated. Then I switched to the Protoss race and started using a strategy I found on the internet. It was a cheese rush. I went 19-1 until I stopped. It wasn't very fun. So I completely gave up cheesing. I got crushed by platinum players until my mrr settled down to my level. I switched again (to Zerg, who plays Terran), and decided to play normally. I ended up switching a lot between Zerg and Protoss. While still in bronze, I decided on playing random.
Playing random didn't quite work out for me. I cringed every time the command center showed up on the screen. So I switched back to Protoss, hopefully decided now. I find Protoss more fun than Zerg.
Currently I'm in silver league and improving.

Why I'm writing this
+ Show Spoiler +
I want to improve. My goal is to one day take a win in a tournament. Not just a bronze/silver tournament, but something like Craftcup or Zotac. Unfortunately, I currently don't have serious motivation and I'm always wasting time on the web instead of playing.
The plan
+ Show Spoiler +
I'm going to try to make this a weekly thing. Every week, I'll try to report to tl about my games played during the week. I'll also pick two games (one win and one loss) to make my best attempt at writing a battle report. This way, you will be able to follow my progress and see how I improve. I would also love it if anyone came with some suggestions as to what I can do.
I'm trying to set up a stream to stream my games. That might take some time, however.

If you have any questions or anything of the like, I would be happy to answer them.
