Epic story to whomever bumped this thread - gj it was a great read

Thanks whoever bumped this thread, I enjoyed each of the pages very much, and user11 has a great story! This thread kinda makes me wanna travel. Also, its probably good that this thread was started in the BW days before SC2 kids like me flooded into the site. There woulda been so much flaming nothing would get done (not from me though!).

Good read.
I am glad user11 made it home.
It would be nice to hear from him and what he's been up to lately. Job ? School ? wife ? kids ?
Don't leave us hanging.

Funny, pretty sure he is(was) a scam artist - although a really good one (how did he constantly withdraw paypal funds without insane fees in 2005 in a foreign country?). Any money he got was well deserved.
Didnt read every page but beside an ip from the netherlands (which i can get from anywhere in the world) there never was any verified proof?
Also, if his story was true i would be hellbound to pay everybody back asap.

He worked for Liquid Meat, a cofounder of this website (I think). Scam artists don't scam minimum wage job opportunities.

I know but that doesnt proof anything or did they actually meet up?
He didnt do it for the money, more for the luls i suppose? Which he clearly got.

He spoke to Liquid`Meat on the phone as well, who gave him like 10+ hours of work to help him earn some money. edit: Ninja'd :3
|
yes, or does everybody need to post proof of everything that they've done to satisfy your skeptic heart? :o
god i would hate to call in sick to guise like u D:
|
@DOX Dont know if Skype In was available in 2005, cant verify that now but Meat could have just spoken with somebody User11 asked (i suppose it was a landline with a country code from the netherlands) - so thats no real proof.
@Navi The fun in threads like this is (at least for me) to solve the mystery, like in Columbo. Also, where i live, when you call in sick you have to have a sheet from your doctor to back your story up.

That's what I thought when I started reading. This was a really really great read.
I wonder if the community is still as tight knit as it was before sc2 came out....

Oh shut up icydergosu, take it as a story with a happy ending, feel good about it and have a good day.
I remember this thread well, glad it was bumped, i never knew the ending and i'm literally happy (smiling) that this was real (not a scam) and it all ended nicely, quite epic.

Amazing story, i missed it, so glad i could read it now. Seems pretty legit to me, he also met some people and provided some proof of what he said. The one thing i learn from this story is (apart from planning ahead and having insurance), if you ever ask help to your embassy, tell them you have no shelter, no food and no money. Then you will get a stupid ticket home for free (or maybe you have to pay for it later).

thnx to bumper for this :D great read

wow this guy is a pro scammer/bum to be honest. I cannot imagine that he could not get 400 euros? its totally BS...
