GSL MARCH 2011 SPOILERS!
Group C and D has been finished and what do you know, seems like good old Check came out on top and qualified to the round of 16 precisely as I predicted despite everybody telling me I was crazy to think so. I will not brag about that though, it was a little chancy, but I knew Check would pull through. He had his back against the wall with his mandatory military service if he was not successful this GSL so it was time to step up or get knocked out and he took his chance and it really showed that he has practice a bit since last time.
Jinro plowed his way through R32 with 2-0, not unexpected at the least. His favorite match up is his TvT and you can almost sense how dominating he is at times. Although he made some rather unusual slip ups in his game (if you call losing a banshee and being under pressure through the mid game slip ups), but his powerful macro in combination with his profound understanding of TvT made him go through to R16. So far so good with my predictions in Group C.
Group D was a little bit different. NaDa was the sure favorite coming in to this group and like many others I had him as my pic to advance to R16. He showed convincingly why he is one of the best players in the world still and walked through the group easily. My only miss prediction this day was of TOP. I really thought he would win over Hongun, not dominate him, but at least take a win over him and to my surprise he loses pretty badly against Hongun. So now he was forced to meet his team mate NaDa and we pretty much know how that ended. TOP who won code A get sent to the up and down brackets again. Although I am pretty sure he will continue to stay in code S.
So this time around I got 75% right in my predictions. This combined with my poor predicting performance of Group A and B which you can read in my previous blog makes the predicting accuracy exactly 50%. Not too good, but at least not horribly bad either.
Next is group E and F in which I have predicted that IMNesTea and SlayerS_BoxeR will advance in group E and that choyafOu and FOXLyn will win in group F. For my reasoning around my predictions you can read my previous blog.
