@qxc0000, 7 hrs ago: Sent an application in to gomtv for the Code A Foreigner House for this summer. The cogs are turning.
Kevin "qxc" Riley, the American Terran from Root Gaming who placed second at the IEM American Championships in New York among other notable results, has written an application for the GSL foreigner house in Seoul, Korea.
Several hours ago on Twitter, QXC wrote that he had submitted the application and that 'the cogs are turning'. Although Riley is temporarily living in Spain, it seems that the American's plan is to play StarCraft full-time in Korea once his education at Harvey Mudd is complete. At the very least, he is attempting to expand his horizons this upcoming summer. I am currently reaching out to qxc for comment and clarification on his intent.
qxc will not be able to compete in the upcoming season and it is unclear when exactly he hopes to participate in the GSL.
This was posted already in the qxc fan club but very few people noticed it and honestly, this deserves a bit more recognition. Yeah yeah, it's another Terran but get over it! It'd be awesome if qxc showed up in Korea. Just like with Sjow, I have absolutely no idea how his play will translate to results in Korea but right now I'm just excited to see the foreigner house start to shape up and fill up..

So, is he sponsored there by Root or going on his own?
|
Once his education is done and he can practice in Korea I imagine his skill will skyrocket. (if he goes)
|
What of the other ROOT members? I'm surprised! Good luck QXC!

I think he would do well, his style of Terran is quite different then most Korean Terrans. It's not just one big timing attack and another, it's non stop aggression.
I hope he gets accepted and gl QXC!!!

Harvey mudd...same college as Day9?

Agreed, he's like a tide of aggression. Two-pronged attacks are nothing for him to pull off.

All while scanning the island. Impressive.

I think this MIGHT be blowing it out of proportion a little bit.
To me it seems like he's just keeping his options open for the summertime since he will have time to play, but summer also means a lot of NA/EU tournaments that he'll have the option to play in. Lets say he joins the GOM house in June and gets an invite into code A, he wouldn't even be code S until mid August, assuming he does well in code A and moves up.
I think he'd be great for Korea, but this application seems to be more keeping an eye out for the future, but I think going to Korea will be less and less enticing and prestigious compared to what it was like to see Ret and Idra going to korea for BW, or seeing TL move in early on in SC2.

I think that's fair!
I amended the article (and responded to you on Twitter :D). I haven't gotten clarification from qxc about it so it's very possible that he's just expanding his horizons, giving himself some more options.

Such a baller, hope he gets accepted, and once he gets there, his skill will skyrocket indeed.
if GOM doesn't accept this guy, the community will be really pissed off...

Qxc is literally one of the few Terrans I actually enjoy watching (and feel have actual skill). His style is a joy to watch. Good luck sir -- Code S in no time.

i believe the consensus is that huk is currently an absolute badass. we'll see this season of course but considering his ladder shape and what informed parties have been saying, i dont disbelieve it

Pillow = badass, don't even deny it
qxc in GSL would be amazing, best of luck Hippie Terran, Drop em' like it's hot!

qxc is by far my favorite Terran. Would be awesome if he got accepted!
|
The GSL house is a perfect match for someone like QXC who is seemingly quite dominant on the US ladder.
