I never had to set my own before, because I always rented. First of all, the mission bindings were probably defective but at the same time, the toe strap was slipping off my toe and i know that it was because of the design, not the binding. if you are regular do 15 angles to the left on your left foot and maybe 5-10 to the right on your right foot. if you are goofy, the other way around. this allows for you to be able to get into your turns better and more smoothly. Thanks for the help! Im going to see how the Missions are when they get here, since I ordered online. If the toe strap does move around like you said, ill probably return them for the Cartels. Yeah. Try the Missions out. But make sure you know what the return policy is. Did you get it from the-house.com? That's a great site to purchase stuff. You can't go wrong with Cartels. They are sickkk.
No I got both from Trusnow.com, they used to be Sierra but they got bought by a different company. And the return policy says I can return them as long as they're in the original packaging, and in new condition. So might as well, see how they are before I go returning them.

well, doesn't new=not used? i guess if you didn't abuse them too much in one day, u can return it. just say the toe strap keeps coming loose and has a defect and they'll believe u. lol

Yup, im going to play around with the toe strap before I go up to the mountain to see how it is. If it seems to come off or move around to much while im not even riding, ill send them back right there, lol. Otherwise ill take em up, and see how they perform. If it slides at all when I ride ill clean'em up and ship'em back. I really want these to work though, they match so nice!

I absolutely love green and it has been my favorite color for like 15 years now... my jaw basically dropped because its such a cool shade. Alas I have never been snowboarding, definitely high on my to-do list. Is $450 for bindings/board about average, like middle-of-the-road? Seems a little pricey but I don't know anything and guess it's good quality stuff. Thats actually pretty cheap for a board and bindings, usually good boards cost about that alone. Also yeah the green is sick, and the bindings match perfect!
That's a great deal for how nice that stuff looks. I had to pay 800 for my forum destroyer alone
but loooooooove the powder so it's worth it

I've got a Forum Board 161cm long and 262mm wide with division 23 Bindings and airwalk boots. got my board re painted last year with the Fredom Gundam on it

Very cool. I'm sure you'll love your stuff when you go out to the mountain.
Rentals FTL!
I ride a GNU CHB MTX 153cm with K2 Indy bindings.
I've already gone riding quite a lot this season, but still haven't gotten any fresh pow

Im 5'10'' 230lbs. Do you think the 158 would be to small for my height/weight? Some of my friends said it might be too small. Thats the size I've been learning on and renting all my past times.

You might be pushing it a bit with a 158 at that size/weight but you shouldn't really have any major issues.
I myself bought a Custom Flying V (Rocker/Camber hybrid) with the cartel EST and absolutely love it!

Wow, I looked it up and that board sounds SICK. Grats man, now im jealous! lol

Yeah, the EST setup is top of the line technology wise. It gives you way more feel/control/stability then traditional setups. Although they are a bit more expensive, it'd be worth the extra 30-50 dollars.

I'll probably take it to the Poconos on Superbowl Sunday. No crowds, and an empty mountain!

AyeH, were you using the 2011 Missions? I was doing more research on them, and it looks like they improved them a lot this year according the reviews. They added new straps ("Burton Primo Cap Strap"), more cushioning, and big improvements on the highback. I have heard a lot of bad things about the older models though, so its got me worried now.

Should just get a pair of Flows! Arn't the missions a very soft binding? I guess it really comes down to what you want to do.

NOOOOOOOOO!! I hate Flows! Im never going to use them again. I go to this one mountain near me a lot, that uses Flows on all their rentals. They are the most unresponsive, uncomfortable, pieces of garbage I've ever rode. I've used them 3-4 times, and they always give me horrible foot pains. They are quick, and easy to latch in, I'll give them that, but I usually like manually tightening the ankle and toe of my boot.

Flows are bad compared to Burton and Ride bindings.. They are nowhere near as durable and lose their snugness around the boot. I got the newest missions which were the 2011 missions. I had too many problems with it so I got the 2011 cartels. Never looked back since! you can just tell that it is a superior product from the material.

Alright im going to see how it goes with the Missions. Anyone have tips for a first timer in the park? I want to start out on some small jumps next time I go.

I'm from NJ, been snowboarding almost ten years now :D I hit up the Poconos a lot tooo. Jack Frost/Big Boulder has student special on Thursdays and if you go with friends, it's really easy to sneak in with only one pass because they fence off the mountain and scan to get on, then don't care about lifts so one goes in and hands the pass over the fence to another... in theory, anyway >.>
Def be careful with that toe strap. Guys in the pro shop are usually pretty chill, if you head over and let them know you got brand new bindings and you feel like somethings off, they'll take a good look at it for you
Anyone looking to buy a good snowboard, at the end of this season/the beginning of next season, all of 2010 stuff will go on crazy sale to make room for 2011 stuff, and since it's only a year old it's still top of the line.

I've got a slaloman board with burton custom bindings + boots.
Its too short for me since i grew since i bought it but its not worth buying a new board for how little i've used it. I love it, its just a bit short. Wish i could take it out to real mountains more often, there's very little in the midwest that isnt 5+ hours away

Im also going to get a Helmet and some Goggles at my local store. Any brand suggestions?
