one of them was about "voices of the stars", about how someone from civilizations came to africa and he couldn't hear the whispers of the stars, and the natives were rather shocked that he couldn't.
one of them was supposedly posted at the papal website, it was about how there are so many noises in the world and people try to look for God within the noises. the poem ends with just saying turn off everything, and you'll find God there.
and the last one had a memorable line, something about dance as if no one was looking, love as if you were never hurt before.
if anyone can help me find the originals of these it'd be wonderful :3
sooo i went to two more TL meetups, even though school started already but my flight is tomorrow evening. i can't wait to go back to school actually. but let me write a few notes about the meetups first
- Mango and I were going to popeyes to buy lunch for everyone and we run into zatic getting off of a taxi. Mango is like "that looks like zatic" and we were watching him head towards the TL HQ. We say hi, and walk him in. And then we went and got popeyes but we ended up getting so much that there were lots of leftovers.
- When Brood showed up and I introduced myself there was this awkward "taken aback" pause by Brood before he shook my hand. I guess my infamous IRC demeanor took him aback?
- despite the mafia not being able to win the last time we played mafia, mafia won with ease this time around for some reason... or at least, mafia won in the first two games and i had to leave after the third.
- hotbid trying to wake up r1ch is quite funny.
- during the meetup today pokebunny showed up. we were hoping that he'd forget the time so he'd get to the grudgematch late for an autoforfeit. but regardless i think today was easily his best day ever. we were checking results at the restaurant later and we were like "hotbid make a phone call and get some OGS player to play instead of plexa" but a las He managed to leave the restaurant on time.
- So we were split between two tables kinda, where one table had all the drinkers/older people and the other table had the nondrinkers. Pokebunny was sitting on the end of the drinkers table looking all unhappy and everything. We (fanaticist wax zatic mango) asked pokebunny if he wanted to switch seats and he was like "nahh" but we ended up having him move anyway. He ended up right between smix and lilsusie and he was just sitting there completely beaming. so now you know why pokebunny even won today, it was obviously one of the better days in his life ;D
- Hotbid got one of those sauce plates, put hot chili on it, and told Wax "hey if you put chili on this it feels really warm" and got Wax to put his hand on it to feel it, and then plastered the sauce plate all over wax's hand. Wax retaliated by trying to get the sauce on hotbid's face but he didn't manage to but the sauce kinda splattered and landed on pressure's pants (collateral damage!)
- zatic is a pretty cool person, ate everything and loved everything. going to be sad that i get to miss his soondooboo T____T
- thanks to mango for leading us to a really good place (and i think you covered for a big chunk of it? D: i feel kinda bad T_T)
- tree.hugger is pretty tall and kinda looks like kal.
- i'm kinda sad that i didn't get to talk to ils that much since he was on the other table i hope you had fun nonetheless though T_T
- hotbid was really tired and falling asleep. Fanaticist drew on hotbid's face with a blue marker while he was slightly sleeping
- HOON WHERE ARE YOU
One thing i noticed in the meetup is that not many people knew where my name came from. Milkis is a name of a soda (carbonated milk) in Korea. It is not a clever "Milk is" statement. I figured people would at least google it or something! Ambasa, my alt, is the other carbonated milk beverage more prevalent in japan iirc.
AND finally
i want to apologize to GTR flamewheel and T.O.P. since for one reason or another i held a grudge against you guys and sort of let you be the subject of my many irc tirades. So i wanted to apologize for that. Sorry, I promise to treat TL more like a professional workplace
