Aight, Im gonna try this blogging stuff. I dont like those sites that are just for blogging, and since I love tl I figured I'd start posting my crap that no one cares about, here.
So lets start with my history. My name is Matti, I'm 21 years old and I live in Sweden with my dad. I'm currently studying criminology and shizzle like that, and I will be doing that for a year or two. Gaming has been a major part of my life since my dad bought me a NES when I turned 4. I played semi-competatively SSBM a couple of years ago, but stopped since I didn't have the economy to travel too much. I was also amongst the top players on CoD UO, but once CoD4 was released it kinda died. CoD4 felt too easy and boring so I never really bothered with it too much. I've been into Starcraft, and the korean scene, since mid 2004, but didn't really start playing for real until around 2007.
Anyway, that's some useless crap Im sure whoever reads will find much pleasure in knowing.
Today's been boring. Im making some food, and listening to the Killzone2 main menu song over and over again since I'm too lazy to turn it off. I hate Touhou12 Byakuras last spell card, and Im scared of clowns and the Frosties tiger.
Aight, so Im prolly gonna ramble on from time to time about random shit that's going on, for no reason really. I guess Im generally bored.

You used to go to SSBM tournies? That's pretty much the only game I play seriously now, going to every Swedish tournament and stuff. What was your nickname when you used to play?
|
Yeah, I went to Varberg and Göteborg and shiet for the old RoS and SHVAR tourneys. I was known as Kuja back then. Played a pretty beastly Link a couple of times.
|
Cool ^^ I've been to the newer SVAR's (7,8,10,12)
|
What character did you main?
Zoler this applies to you as well.
|
Ah I think my last one was SVAR6. I mainly played Falcon, combowhoring like a beast. Switched to Link a couple of times aswell.
Zoler, Im guessing you know who Dev is then? He's an RL friend of mine. We used to be teammates back when I played.

I tried to get into ssbm. It had a really cool community, Not teamliquid cool but cool none the less. But my friends always beat my ass in it with shiek and fox. They said the best way to learn is to be repeatidly raped by them. But i just quit do too my asses being handed to me when i played with friends and not being able to really practice at home.
If SSBM had online i would love it

Since you guys seem to know about smash brothers quite a bit, do either of you know if the net games for SSBB has gotten any better? I tried it just after it came out and it was unplayable lag.
|
Mad respect to you for maining Link (even if it was only a few times). He and Ness are the most underrated characters in my opinion.

No, the online hasn't gotten any better. It would take a quantum leap in emulator technology to support an environment where you could play lag free. And you have to have a lag free environment or its just not worth it since the game is so freaking fast-paced.
By the way, how popular of a name is 'Matti' in Sweden? I only know a handful of Swedish people and a large percentage share their name with you haha.

For real, Link is pretty darn awesome if you jsut take the time to learn some combos and stuff. Nair is just overpowered. I played him in a couple Singles tourneys just for fun, went pretty well most of the time, but Falcon was always my pick in important games.
I dont know much about SSBB, played it a couple of times, but it was just so much worse than SSBM in everything.
I didn't know there was that many Matti's in Sweden. I'm half finnish, and it's a finnish name. Guess there are many fins in Sweden

I main Sheik, playing Fox and Falco as secondaries but never using them in tournies. (techskill is so much fun ^^)

Oh yes I know Dev, he's really awesome! :D You should totally get back into the smash community man Actually I'm personally hosting a tourney really soon in Kungälv outside Göteborg: http://smashfonticulus.ecommunity.se/viewtopic.php?t=868
The spots are all taken but there's certainly gonna be some new tourneys soon

That's too bad. When I started there was a few noobs like me that started around the same time so I always had someone my level to play and improve with.

Hmm, perhaps I should start attending some tourneys again. All this talk about smash makes me miss it quite alot and I do miss some of the old guys I met. And yeah, Dev got pretty darn good once I quit
Thanks for the link btw, I had no idea Sweden had a forum for it nowadays! I think Im gonna try coming for the next one tbh.
Oh and Falco is such a pain. I met this french guy on RoS3, all he did was laserspamming, I got so pissed off
SO how's the tier list looking now anyway, if there still is one?

Gooo marth!
Ugh I love SSBM. I wish I had some people nearby to play with. None of my friends have even heard of wavedashing . Makes me sad.
Oh, and SSBB sucks, seriously. It's nothing like SSBM. Even ssb64 is much much better than brawl, in my opinion (I actually really like 64). Man I need my smash fix right about now.
