Try new stuff and see what happens take risks...... if you smoke some weed its more probable you will get laid which seems to be what you are really looking for..

First of all, nothing in life really matters, in the end we all just drop dead. Secondly, you're an ass and going from your writing you seem to be a bitter 30 year old virgin still living in his moms basement. You probably smoke weed though. I haven't met a single person on campus that didn't have some kind of a longing for home so I wonder if you're in university?
dude your response.....wtf?
headhunter seems more like a college student than you do...edit: and how is it so hard for you to wrap your head around the fact that some people don't miss home? some people are just ready to move on

Hey man,
I'd highly recommend you go to that party. It really is a good idea. Chances are I'm a little late however.
But seriously, go to the student lounge, just chillout. Talk to people no matter how hard it is. You'll thank yourself after.
Chances are your university will have a club day where the clubs gather together and present themselves. I'd advise you to have a look and see if there isn't already a gamer club (I'm at a small University of about 7000 students and I can assure you there is one). If not, try and find a tech club, or even some people from your program of study.
Really, the worst thing you can do is lock yourself in and be anti-social. You'll end up regretting it later, and it'll make the University experience worse than it otherwise would be. Trust me. It's already going to be really hard. Work like never before, but, if you've got some people to call up and occasionally play some games with to blow off some steam, you'll be able to be more productive.
Good luck!

All my friends from university don't play games. I met the majority of people on my floor from them walking by and seeing me play StarCraft "quickly". Good luck.

you're confusing passion with obsession.
Go outside and make friends at the party and stop being a loser. There is a different between being dude who plays video games and being a nerd. Literally every college male will play some form of Halo, an EA sports series or Counterstrike (or did I just show age there??)
like chill said, most probably wont have a clue what starcraft is but s till

Hey man its just the first day. Eventually you will get to know people, but dont be one of those guys who stays in their room all day with the door closed. Then nobody will want to talk to you.
