I have always been Zerg, so I had no problems regarding opponent's races, cause mostly were T or P, thats fun.
Since the second phase of beta, I have been playing as Terran and now I see how the match system is awful.
I do never get to play versus a zerg, its like 1 in 10. where 6 or 7 are another Terran, so, I'm just leaving as soon the game starts!
I really like TvT, but playing like 3 or 4 TvTs every time is retarded!!
for god sakes! I have left like 30 or more games!!
I can't practice the way I want or even enjoy the game the way I like. I can't name my game like I could with BW, like "1v1 D MOTW come Z" or even "1v1 D MOTW come P". you know what I mean? I can't chose the map and the match-up!
I HAVE to play what the game decides me to play!! I have already dumbed down Scrap Station, Metalopolis and Desert Oasis. Now I'm forced to play in Kulas Ravine, a map I just hate becase every game there is like a 40 minutes game.
maybe I should just change it to Scrap Station, but WOW scrap station is the worst map ever made!
you could say: why don't you play unranked games? because unranked games have only noobies and there is not a league system that makes me playing someone at my level and I won't be able to chose my enemy race anyway.
I want to play at a competitive level, but not f*ing mirror matches in 3 out of 5 games!! omg!! they should make it that you have like only 10% of chances of getting a mirror! I won't mind the 2 minutes in queue!
I LOVE TvZ! LET ME PLAY TvZ!!!
please, Blizzard! I love you, but don't let me go psycho!!
Am I the only one suffering because of the match making system???

The reason you are playing mostly terrans and protoss is because most are playing as terran and protoss, not because the matchmaker is gay.

Play zerg and I guarantee that you will see these games a lot!

The system has no Zergs because no one is playing Zerg. How do you want them to give you games vs Zerg when no one is playing Zerg?
If you want to play Zerg you can find a Zerg practice partner. I see your complaint that you can't make "1v1 Python Zerg Only" but I think that's better for a competitive ladder because those games were always cheese fests anyways. Seriously, when I wanted free points I would join "Zerg only" games and 9 pool speed for a free win.

they could just increase the queue time to find a Zerg or a Protoss, that will work and won't be like a cheese fest, cause I won't be only playing one race, I will still be able to play a mirror match, but with a lower chance, if following my idea(10% mirror).

This makes the ladder more accurate. You can still do that stuff on custom games if you like. The only difference is that ladder score no longer lets players like myself get artificially higher by dodging maps and matchups.

To be honest I hope this is true but my experience tells me it isn't.
I started off doing about 60:ish games as Z in Phase2 and got at least 60% ZvZ and 20%/20% of P & T.
Then I switched back to terran and I'm suddenly getting 60-80% TvT and the rest TvZ/TvP.
This also happened a lot in phase1 when I was playing around with races, every time i'd switch to a new race my % of mirrors would always be higher than the other matchups. I don't know if im extremly unlucky or w/e but it feels buggy.
So in the end, whichever race I'd pack I'd always get a majority or even more mirror matchups from the AMM.

I think could be that your not very good against terran as well, as I find they give the match up thats your weakest until you start doing better at it. Than they will throw other matchups. Also what League are you in? Because I notice there are lot's of zergs in Gold and Below. A tiny amount in Platinum. But a fairly reasonable number in Diamond.

seriously, when playing as Zerg I got a lot of ZvZ's too, of course not compared to the amount of TvTs, but there must be something wrong...

It's dangerously inaccurate to make assumptions about an entire system based on your personal results.

Do you got any data at all or are you just talking how you felt during those times? And then do you got a statistically significant amount of data? If not then either get some or stop.
In early WoW days after every single patch a lot of people thought that onyxia deep breathed more, a lot of topics were made about it. Fact is that Blizzard never changed anything, but people can't handle random so they start seeing patterns which aren't there and thus gets dumb conclusions like this. Sure you might have a point but most likely you are just tricked by your human sides inability to understand what random means.

I dunno, I'm diamond T and getting to play mostly P. I'm getting something like 15% TvT, 35% TvZ and 50% TvP.
So many protosses. So hard to win. :-(
|
I went to go compile all of my Phase 2 matches to get exact percentages of what MUs I play, but then remembered that SC2 no longer auto-saves all of your replays. Stupid BNet 2.0
Anyways I *feel* like I play a little more ZvZ than ZvT/ZvP, but without any data I'd say that it's probably because I hate playing mirror matchups, so I remember them more vividly, which gives me the perception that I'm playing them all the time.
|
I'm Diamond Terran and I've gotten about 50% TvT, 35% TvP and 15% TvZ so far...I agree that there seem to be less Zergs out there on US server. I hate TvT with a burning passion but I think I'm getting better because I play it so much =/

the match making system is whack. my ally and i were ~200 plat and were paired up against 500+ diamonds for at least 5 games within 2 hours last night. we lost 0,1, or 2 points when we lost and won +40s when we won. it worked out for us since we got a few hundred points off these guys, but it must've sucked for them. this needs fixing. why the fuck would u pair up 500+ diamond with low/mid plat?

They did not lose a lot of points for that, see "hidden rating".

Because your visible league and rating don't have much to do with the actual matchmaking?
If you're beating mid-Diamond players, it means you're probably a lot better than your peers in Platinum, and the large point gain reflects that. You lose 0, 1, or 2 points when you lose because it's expected for players at your level to lose. Your rating is only useful for comparing yourself to other Platinum teams, and will mean nothing when you get bumped up to Diamond anyway.

Lol when I play I get like 70% Tosses, 20% Zergs and 10% Terrans.
Then I get disconected like 20% games, the rest lag and the "Surrender" screen pops up just as I'm microing something, and I accidentally click on it. fufufufufu.

The biggest problem here is that you can't even create custom games with that title, since all public custom games have only the map name as their title

Lol, this really isn't a match-making problem
But you should be allowed to name your customs.
