Now, the typical response to the video may be that it is nothing that special but this goes WAY back with me. So...this was back in 4th grade (6 years ago) I was looking around my sister's computer without her permission and started looking at what was in his folder.
Now, if I was any older at the time, I would have greatly disappointed to see what she had but at the time, her folder was loaded with manga, music, AMVs, and games. To me, it was as if I found the Holy Grail.
When I opened up that AMV shown above, it was just pure sex to my ears. I have never heard J-pop before nor seen a AMV in my life. That video just gave me the best goosebumps of my life. When Serge and Kid hugged, I felt so happy, so excited (but I never admitted it till now in fear of getting cooties) Afterwords, I started becoming an avid listener of J-pop and began to get into anime and manga heavily.
However, that AMV was not the only awesome thing she had. I also found this:
That song also brought chills to my spine. Who knew that such awesome music and animation existed? This fueled my love for the Megaman X series even more and I then discovered my sister's Megaman X manga and read all of it for hours and hours.
As for J-pop, I did not tell my parents at the time because I was so scared that they would get angry at me for liking what I thought was rock n roll rather than classical music.
That was one of the best days of my life and the starting point of my life when I became a nerd rather than a jock like my parents wanted me to at the time.
Looking back now, I have to say that I am amazed to see how much change I saw. I believe that the Magaman X series is not that great (gameplay is fun but story is so painful that I sometimes want to stab myself with a knife and concentrate on the pain rather than the story) but I still love See-Saw with a passion.
Now, you can that that those songs are shit and the AMV as well, but remember that this is me at the age of 11.
