so i was getting semi tired of high level sc. that is, i wanted to relax and play some casual games ... low apm ... try weird ass stats, etc.
i lost all my placement matches and got placed into bronze, but since then, i've been progressively ranked up. i've tried to purposefully hold a 50% win rate but the next thing i know, i'm in gold.
i miss playing with the bronze players. not because they are easy to beat - i'm not that kind of jackass. its kinda neat you get to control the games at a reasonable pace for them, teach them a thing here or there, pull out crazy spells and stuff you might've not tried in higher level games (mass hallucinate units ever so fun).
but alas .. back into gold, back facing plat/diam players, back to raping my fingers with hotkeys and numerous brain aneurysms.

Haha just get better and you can do that no problem with higher ups as well. I can fuck with any Platinum player and usually most low ranked Diamond players without any fear of actually losing. And I mean completely dicking around, such as massing ravens to use their auto-turrets, etc. Control the pace of the game by using the bear minimum to defend (Zerg SC1 mentality) while devoting the rest of hte resources to make an even stronger economy and bust out some really high tier units.
Play customs! You'll find tons of bronze/silver/gold players there .
P.S. Not a bragging post, just saying any Diamond player could completely 100% control the pace of the game with a gold level player the same way you can do that with a bronze.

hahah fabled took the words from my mouth :O diamond is D+ and up XD

YOU SMURF.
Alas, my fun must end also

Diamond is D and up, D+ is top 5 diamond.
Bronze/Silver/Gold are really just noobs around the same level, platinum has noobs that kind of know what they are doing, and diamond has a ton of noobs, less good players, and very few great players.
I hate the ladder system, the skill difference between them should be more noticeable and a lot harder to rank up.

I think everyone should start at the bottom of the ladder. You can get lucky in placements and end up in Diamond. When everyone starts at the bottom it will be more wide spread.

To rank up, do you need to be at the top (1st) of your league?

I think you're misunderstanding. The league system is there to give a nice shiny medal to those who don't know they suck. For the people that actually do care about their ICCup equivalent, they have your total score inside the diamond league. For the C and up players they will also have the Pro league to further separate the top of diamond from the bottom, we just aren't seeing that yet.
Let the game release please first before you "hate" anything.

I think people are highly overstating "Diamond is D and up." Yeah, being in Diamond isn't anything exceptional, but the people top 5 in Diamond I would argue were definitely above the equivalence of a D+ in SC1.

Nope, I've found that as long as you are really streaky with minimal losses you will get bumped up in no time. I found that even if you DO lose quite often you could still get bumped up if the majority of your wins are against higher ranking players. I've tested it in many ways having 2 accounts and I STILL can't comprehensively say I know that much more about it than most people. Hell, I've done 3-2 and placed in diamond in 2s this patch. Then I did 3-2 and placed silver in 3s. I have NO idea how that happened.
