I'm hook on this show and it's making me want to become a doctor! (Lol.. yea right)
I'm looking for some help though
I'm not sure of some of the terms they use like..
"He's an attending" Is that a rank or something? I know what an intern is... but aren't they all doctors?
Wtf, I knew there normally would be some sort of head doctor in a normal hospital but now I'm all like whoaaaa
So many different ranks; Anyone care to explain to me?? (In Grey's Anatomy terms?) =D

YES!!! I LOVE GREYS ANATOMY!!
Im becoming a nurse...so i will try to explain this stuff for you but i might be off a bit...
okay, so an intern i beleive is your first year after leaving medical school where you do an internship at a hospital
after being an intern, you apply for a residency (resident) at a hospital where i guess you could describe the job as being somewhat like an apprentice? (again i may be off) this lasts 5-7 years
after that, your a "full" doctor, or an attending. so i guess you can say theres like 3 ranks...you can look up this kind of stuff on wikipedia too...im sure it explains better then me :p

Too much drama for my taste. Forced watch sometimes due to ex-girlfriend and sister fanaticism. + Show Spoiler +I even know the girl with cancer and the guy in army die in the end of this season.

Ok Im really drunk, but i'll explain, even though thist thread is like a year old.
It changes depending on where you're from, but when u leave med school, u do a 1 year internship. You need to complete this and pass a test to become fully qualified as a doctor. After this, you start with ure residency. This is kinda like a learning process as well. People often do specialties with their residency. Meaning they spend x amount of years gaining the specialty they want to move into. This varies in length, but can take from 2-7 years depending what you do with your residency. From there, you are fully qualiftied to do whatever you want as a doctor (ure an attending)
Note: this post might be deleted or changed dependig what I think of it when i wake up and read it when sober

It pissed off a lot of the core audience.
