I recently switched from Terran to Zerg. The main reason is that Terran feels more fun. I was a lower platinum zerg, and gold terran at the moment, if that sort of thing is important to you. This isn't really about balance or strategy and more about how I feel about playing the game in comparison to BW.
I was a Zerg player in BW. When I got SC2 I was all excited to see the cool new units and spells. I went with a friend and made a few of every unit just to see what everything did. The zerg units just aren't that visually interesting. Aside from banelings and the infestor tentacle mind rape attack, there are no interesting Zerg units. Hive tech is totally underwhelming. Broodlords aren't really interesting so much as they are powerful. My experience with ultralisks can be accurately summed up by my first reaction to using them: "WOW COOL THEYRE SO BIG LOL" "uh wow I can only fit one up the ramp and all my lings are dancing around at the bottom."
Even Terran sounds are more interesting. The Thor arnold impersonator is awesome. SCVs say silly things "Uhhh... THATS your plan?" In SC2 the zerg units lost their distinct roars and giggles(zergling) and were replaced by dull-sounding groans.
Once I got over the excitement of playing SC2, I realized Zerg is not only visually, thematically, and soundally boring(lol cant think of the word to say the sound is boring, pretend its right), but it also lacks the elements that drew me to it in SC1. Terran is dynamic like BW Zerg used to be. Each unit is useful through the whole game and has a niche, like how Zerg was in SC1. I can tech switch quickly to deal with any threat. Terran air is amazingly useful and dynamic. I'm trying not to be too specific here. Playing Terran feels like Zerg did in BW.
There are things I could say about how to fix this, but really how relevant is that? Hey Blizzard, put in a hive tech lurker that shoots 20x2 death spines to separate targets! That will fix everything!
So I've switched to Terran now. Rest in peace, BW flavored Zerg. I'll miss you.
I just started playing terran as well. There are so many powerful (read: slightly overpowered) strategies for terran that blizzard doesn't seem to want to touch, while any powerful strat that comes out for protoss or zerg seems to get hotfixed to meh.

I've been seeing a lot of this too, apart from the famous ones like idra and artosis, a lot of people who used to play terran in bw play zerg in sc2. it seems to fit with the mechanical based style terrans love to use
For Zerg territory control in the form of creep tumors is now important, creep tumors are the new spider mines/tank lines with positioning being a factor as well as macro/micro.
Maybe this is why I like playing Zerg over Terran in SC2. Although I main Toss, my main race was Terran in BW. The mechanical aspects seem to have crossed over to Zerg instead for SC2 while the dynamic atmosphere of Zerg has moved to Terran.
I'm playing Random now though, so I'm learning how to play the different styles. I enjoy them all for different reasons, but I can understand your viewpoints as well.

Sonically.
And yeah, agreed. I'm probably going to switch from Zerg to Terran for SC2. It's no fun to play as them in SC2 and they keep getting nerfed. I played Terran against a friend brand new to SC2 so I wouldn't roll him with my main. It felt a lot better to control them though
