Hey guys. I've playing on the beta since mid march and to say the least I'm super stoked that SC2 is going to be released the day before my birthday WEWT!!!
anyway, I play random at the gold level currently rank 2. My toss and terran are Really strong but as Zerg I run in to problems between Drone production and Unit production, as I'm sure that all new zerg players run in to this problem some time in there careers.
Anyway I'm hoping that someone has/knows of a good stream or perhaps some good videos that can help me resolve this problem. and help me get the right Ratio of Attacking units to drones so that I can live more easily through the mid game.
If you'd like a replay I don't mind putting that up tonight when I get home.

why is this in strategy?
anyway, just google "Idra" and that's pretty much everything you need to know right there.

Find replays or vods containing Idra, HayPro, Dimaga, Artosis ... and surely alot of other people who i havent had the pleasure of watching.

Zerg is the easiest one to answer: IdrA, without a doubt. His play is so solid. A little earlier in the beta he was a bit weak to cheese but I'd say now he's stronger than ever. He dominates.
I'm a fan.

EU-dimaga NA- n/a Asia- Idra
fixed.
but it should really read:
IdrA IdrA IdrA.
cause idra is sex on a stick.

From what I've seen, its IdrA. TLO might give him a run for his money too. I liked TLO's zerg play against WhiteRa in the HDH invitational.

so IdrA obviously, but if you can also get you hands on Check, ZenioWerra, Cool[fOu] or f91 reps, they're probably the best in the world. In the west, definitely DIMAGA, ZpuX, Haypro and Naugrim are all very solid. But pretty much any zerg rep you get on SC2win.com will have top level zergs you can learn from.

From what I've seen there are a few Korean Zergs better than Idra, though he might be the best non-Korean (although I think Sen takes that crown).
|
ppl forget idra is in korea still.
|
Sheth and Slush are also definitely worth mentioning.
And definitely IdrA. As to your main question of units vs. drones, it seems like a playstyle thing to some degree. Idra definitely favors a drone-heavy, macro-oriented style.
|
I like IdrA's bm, but i've killed him so many times I duno. His ZvT is terrible. He folds like a lawn chair to reaper micro. Dimaga is probably the best Z i've seen play on europe, but I've never played against him so i don't really know how good he is.
There is a guy on north american server named Ostijy (i think that's how it's spelled) and he's the only zerg I've seen that consistantly gives tough games. As far as the people I've played against he's the best on NA server.
edit: also i wouldn't look at naugrim. he's pretty unimpressive in sc2. his builds don't make any sense half the time... cutting mass drones on scrap then not doing anything w/ the lings in zvz. Not the best player to learn from imo.

Idra, Machine, Sheth, CatZ, Suggy, Iris, Telecom are some of the Americans I can think of. Don't follow EU as much so someone else would have to give you that stuff. Idra is still in Korea of course.
Oh Artosis is good too. Can never remember his name -.-
|
I will concede, that while IdrA is a handsome zerg beast that I think is the best. his reps are rather boring, which is standard idra.
some of the other zergs mentioned (haypro/f91/etc) might be more entertaining.

Freedom, Sen, and Idra - but good luck finding replays of Asian players :p
|
Idra is probably the most solid of the zerg players right now, due to his hatred of cheese and love of macro. Other zergs may be better at certain builds, but I'd say he is the best overall.

wow... im very happy that you mention me ... =)

Idra but in all fairness he plays 12+ hours a day in a pro gaming environment so you wouldn't expect less. It's questionable that other players would be better than him if they were in his situation but I gues we'll never know....
