Fight Night Ep. 1 + Show Spoiler +Our first Fight Night has been VOD'ed on YouTube and is embedded below. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TCTNrI3yXH4 Welcome to the Official Fight Night thread. This thread will be used for all discussion, information / updates, and VODs of a new weekly live show brought to you by Major League Gaming. Graphic will be added here in a bit to pretty up this post.
Every Friday beginning at 02:00 GMT (+00:00) we will be going live with a new show featuring top players from all divisions currently in the SC2 beta. The premise of the show is to get players -- I'll try to do several tiers throughout the night; some Plat, some Gold, some Silver, etc; the main goal of the cast is to provide entertainment) who haven't had the chance to be in the spotlight their 15 minutes of fame. That being said, we will be completely open to any "pro" players who want to come in for a match.
I plan to run the matches in a very 'open' manner. There will rarely be a series as I want to cram as many one-round matches into our two hour broadcast. We might have some 2v2 matches, I might even play against another commentator and cast at the same time -- the options are endless! The general goal is for people participating to have fun, and people watching to have fun. This won't be a super serious competitive tournament environment at all. Surprise guests are bound to happen!
That being said, I am completely open to any criticism, ideas, or comments about this in the thread. If something sounds fun then chances are I will probably throw it into the show! Also, I know that there are currently a ton of shows every week. I tried to plan this as best as possible but if I coincide with any current cast going on, please let me know in the comments. I don't want to rob anyone's time slot.
If you are interested in playing tomorrow night send me a PM on TL.net with your Battle.Net ID OR send a Real ID request in Starcraft 2 to fightnight.mlg@gmail.com OR simply add FightNight.mlg to your friend list. Tomorrow night throughout the show I will be picking users at random who PM me when its time to get some new opponents.
Thanks everyone! See you tomorrow night at 02:00 GMT (+00:00)! Remember to check out the State of the Game SC2 Podcast and the MLG Showcase Series threads here on TL.net

Sounds awesome! I can't wait

Also when is MLG PC Circuit gonna start getting main website attention. I have attended four MLG events to play Halo 3 4v4 and several to play Halo 2 FFA, and while I never played on the PC Circuit I feel like it's still kind of in the shadows still.. WOW had it's own separate area and was pretty secluded. I go to MLG.com frequently, and I didn't even know that MLG had starcraft videos until I finally got my SCII beta key and came over to team liquid again(haven't been on here in awhile). These videos and exhibition matches are good, but MLG needs to make some announcements concerning their plans for the future of the PC Circuit, especially now that we have a release date on SCII.

"If there are any "pro" players who want to attend tomorrow night you guys will get priority over a lesser known player."
... this sounds interesting, and I am going to watch, I have enjoyed all the MLG-Starcraft II videos so far.
Truth! Deleted the second part.

Alright, well thanks for clearing it up so quick, I'll be tuning in =)

do you have to be a certain rank to be eligible for this. it just says top players... or do you have the top players play against the random ones?

well maybe it will be silver vs silver, and plat vs plat.
Or even like Gold/Silver vs Gold/Silver 2v2
I'm not really sure how accurately the bungie ladder ranking system is to your real skill level as I was a gold 2v2 random, and I am extremely bad at the game as far as micro/apm etc are concerned. But I think that's cause I had no competition in the placement rounds.. for example i am a very low silver Terran in 1v1 which I play the most..., but I think the ladder system is there just for fun, and to give you some idea of how good you are not exactly how good you are.
As long as the matches aren't complete blow outs, it should be fun

Damn JP, your a busy bee aren't u ^_^

Awesome initiative JP. The more events for SC2 the better~

should be intense I'm not going to setup a blowout like that. I can view profiles, etc.

Good to see MLG capitalizing on a great opportunity. I made several posts and PM's about getting SC1 into MLG, but it never went through. Happy to see that they are making an effort for SC2.
