So the night before the trip I pulled an all-nighter as I often do because I was up too late and I knew I would miss my early class if I went to sleep. Thus we're driving up and I had been up for like 36 hours and was tired as hell. It was like 4 am and we're out of gas somewhere in New Hampshire or something, but all the gas stations are closed. After we get to like the third gas station which is also closed, a cop pulls up and apparently thinks we're doing something fishy because "everyone knows none of the gas stations around here are open this early." He came over to look in the back seat and sees me hunched over essentially passed out and accuses us of drunk driving (lol). He then does like the background check on the car or whatever, and apparently the car is registered to Never's mom who has a different last name or something so he thought we had stolen the car. Good times.
Anyways, the entire trip long we discussed Starcraft 2 tactics and such. Mostly since we were P/P/T we just bashed on Zerg constantly for being ez mode and OP lololol. Gretorp and I heavily discussed PvT and we finally agreed on a conclusion that the matchup was balanced if colossi don't exist (and I don't use colossi when I PvT usually) but imba in favor for toss with colossi.
So we arrive Saturday morning at like 6:30 or 7 am and we're all exhausted. We go to sleep and end up waking up around noon. Through getting ready and going and eating breakfast (lunch) at a diner as well as I'm sure some other crap that must have slowed us down, we didn't actually get to the ticket counter at the slopes until 3pm, and the slopes close at 4pm. The fail place wanted to charge us $60 for an hour of skiing, to which we said fuck that. We had already rented skis though (mine were in Maryland so I didn't have access to them) so we wanted to use our skis, so we just snuck on the lift that wasn't scanning tickets and did a couple runs before leaving.
Andre had brought his Estro jacket with him, and when we were eating dinner at a bar, the waitress basically started hitting on him because she thought it was a racing jacket (LOL). So lesson learned guys: Progamer swag gets you chicks!
Anyways, we had a great time. We played some pool, played some poker, did a bunch of skiing (the next day at least), and overall just had a blast.
We had this one really memorable poker hand in which I had A5o and Gretorp had AJo. Gretorp had raised pre-flop and I had called (3 handed yo lol... if this was a bad call sue me I'm not great at poker). The flop comes T47 (rainbow) and Gretorp and I both check. The turn comes a 7, we both check, and then the river comes a 4. At this point I can't remember exactly what happened betting-wise, but I think what happened was that I bet a bunch knowing I had ace high for the 2-pair, and gretorp raised me all-in. I then spent like literally 10 minutes talking out loud about what I thought he had (lol), discussing how I was worried he had a higher pocket pair, but that that probably wasn't the case because he probably would have bet on the flop, and then that he might have had something like AT, but that again he probably would have bet on the flop, and then I finally put him on having essentially exactly what I had (just the A high for the two pair on the board), called, and found he did and we split the pot. It was pretty funny just from me talking aloud for like 10 minutes going through all the options lol.
Anyways, on to the pictures!
Here is Never (Spencer) on the left and I (Jake) am on the right at the poker table.
Here is Gretorp (Andre) on the left and Never on the right. We didn't have chips so at the store we bought skittles and used them as chips hehe. As you can see by the pile in front of the camera I was doing pretty well hehe.
Here we are on the slopes! Left to right: -orb-, Never, Gretorp
Here we are on the slopes again spelling out TL with our poles! Left to right: Gretorp, -orb-, Never
In case it's hard to see what we were spelling, here you go lol:
