So after finding the best SC music to listen to while playing (see video below)
I was pumped up, and ready to get my game on. On saturday i laddered for a bit, and decided to end the game on a 7 game win streak. So sitting nicely at 3600 and change, i decided to call it a night.
This morning i woke up, and started to ladder a bit. I wanted to just hit C and then stop for the day. I lost a few here and there, killed a protoss trying to one base goon reaver me, then this happened:
and
Basically I am almost asking what i should have done differently, but i don't want to put it in the strat section, and have players tell me to macro better lol.
I am seriously at a loss for mech on destination. and for protoss- I can handle and 1 gate or 2 gate play, but for some reason i have started to lose games in the early late game, because storm is ripping me up. Both games i had in the bag- but i let everything slip through my fingers...
I am just feeling hopeless. There is no way I am going to be getting to C+ with a respectable record this season... I can't even play against mech terran on desti, and it seems that my zvp is hinging on storms... I am very confident in my zvbioT and zvz, along with 1 or 2 gate toss. But mech and late game FE toss are throwing me for a loop.
Anyway i don't really know what this blog is all about... So if i really wasted your time im sorry lol.
I could make you lose your confidence in your ZvTbio if that would even things up and make you feel any better
On a serious note, there have been many streamed games of good zergs vs T mech. You pretty much get your 4th base relatively earlier, you try to get harassed as less as possible by vults, get LOTS of hydras and mutas as the main army ingredient with upgrades on both of them and just keep stopping his attacks whenever he tries to march forward towards your expo.
edit: I just watched the replay and lol. So you get the basic idea that I described, so the above is pointless.
You whine a lot and that's not gonna help you with improving lol.
Firstly, you could have done a lot more with your mutas. Work on that.
The biggest mistake was basically you letting him get to the 2 o clock expansion without noticing whatsoever, so you had to fight his goliaths after already losing all your drones and with them being on high ground for the most part. They should have never reached the expo at all, you should have blocked these as they were coming, you had enough.
Then you didn't start gathering gas from that expansion for a while.
Then you let him have his 2nd expansion with just 1 turret defending it. You should be as annoying with your mutas as much as possible all the time. Then you decided to do a horrible attack as far as positions go anyway. You should have expoed to 9 instead and make him try to walk a bit before reaching your expansion.
Then the game was pretty much over, doesn't matter it went on for a while before you typed out.
You whined about him getting back in the game... ? I don't when you think that you were ahead.
That's pretty much it I think
Lastly, don't obsess too much on "getting to C+ with a respectable score this season" please. It's a really bad way of looking at it. Each season iccup is harder than the last one. You should only focus on improving your game, not being able to showoff a good rank with (whatever you think of as) good stats.
I think things were actually going pretty well for you until you made some big mistakes.
(1) You attacked his natural instead of his 3rd. Big gamble - even if he's concentrating his army toward his 3rd, he has reinforcements coming out every half minute. Also, because he pushed out early and lost his army, he *shouldn't* have enough units to safely take his 3rd (and he didn't).
(2) You engaged his army in seigemode, with your army spread out. I would have liked a drop in the back of his natural, or even some guardians behind his main/3rd area, to force him to split up his army.
You were definitely ahead until you made that first giant blunder. You nailed your own coffin with the second.
Edit: Don't whine about mech imba in a game where you threw away an easy win by making dumb decisions. :p
well thanks for the tips guys, i guess i just have to refine my muta play for zvt mech... However can anyone point me in the right direction for that zvp game? I almost feel that my decision to attack him when his army was half way across the bridge was really a poor one, and idk... how do i avoid storms on desti with all of that choke action?
