So I just arrived here last night to look for a place for me and friends to move into and I've been spending the day trying to drive around. I've gotten lost more times then I can count but at least the streets here make sense unlike from my hometown that if you didn't grow up there, you are fucked in terms of getting around.
Finally found a Walmart, bought a GPS then asked for the cloest library so I could hop online to write down all the addresses of the places I wanted to see with the agent when her schedule is cleared up abit. She has a fuckton of cheap rental houses all over this area. Did I forget to mention how fucking huge Pheonix is? Jesus. I've never lived in a big town before and I'm glad I got the GPS.
I haven't decided on a place yet because a friend of mine says she has a great place that she's been holding for me and I'll check it out later tonight and see how good of condition it is. One thing I learned about moving into places is to just check them out yourself and don't take it at word or even if you do see it for yourself, make sure they spill the beans on anything that could cause problems in the future. It's one thing to move into a shitty house, it's another to move into a shitty house and then the bank sells it out from under you and you have to find ANOTHER place.
So any other TL'ers around Pheonix? If I didn't avoid you at Blizzcon then you must be pretty cool. If you weren't at Blizzcon then you have to be awesome. =p I'll get back on tomorrow or the day after.

Phoenix is a pretty awesome city. You actually came just in time to see the most gorgeous weather it has to offer.
One thing you most likely want to look for is good air conditioning / insulation. The high is over 100 most days between July and August, and if you have poor insulation then you'll have en electric bill that's through the roof. So trying to save money may backfire.

I wish i lived in Phoenix

I live in Phoenix.
Phoenix is one giant grid of streets. Avenues and Streets run North to South. Named streets East to West. The two primary highways are the I-10 and Loop-101 which handle majority of major travel in the Phoenix area. It's true its a big city, but it's just really spread out and low density. Without a car here you're fucked.
Currently live out in Avondale, 125th Avenue & I-10. Way out west headed towards Cali. I never cared to meet anyone at Blizzcon I just went with some friends. Where are you located?

Had to go eat in the middle of posting......Wife yelling at me ..haha
If you get a chance to head down to Tucson let me know. There is more of a night life in Phx but some really cool spots here. Are you old enough to drink? Ever watched the movie Tombstone? And liked/loved it? Then you need to go to Tombstone and visit the Bird Cage theater (Still mostly original)
What brings you to Phx?
