I don't have much to do this week, so I'm going to try laddering in the TSL, using Protoss as my race. Anyone have any tips for a first time ladderer? Besides learning a build order?

Other then that, it's the basic. Study, analyze replays, mass game. Mass game = experience = it's what makes the difference. (For me atleast.)

Making games > joining games, because you'll never be able to get into one If you see a terran all balled and sieged up, you can't take it on. Don't try. If zergs are sniping your templar, be sure to morph them into archons, because they are going to die if you dont.

2. keep minerals low (spend on gates, pylons, etc) 3. if pvt, set your goal is to get a lot of goons, and some zealots depending on his tank count 4. if pvp, get goons, then obs, then reaver 5. if pvz, fast expo and then get corsair. When its out, send it to the other guy's main ignoring the overlords you see. Your goal is to see what the other guy is doing. If spire, get 2/3 cannons at main and nat, and make more sairs. if not, get gates gates gates zeals + ht mix and if yuou see lurker, get obs

One more thing that I would say is really important for improvement is to keep your army out and about the map. This helps several things: your multitasking, your minimap use, and your ability to understand map control.

1. know how to make crazy and weird strats (double cheese combos, scout rushes, 1 base carriers, cannon pushes etc) make sure you know what you're doing and you understand the concepts and weaknesses of your strats. 2. know how to defend against your average cheese cause this will happen to you a lot 3. macro macro macro in the off chance that the game is standard LOL i find that at d level this is what you essentially need and learn if you are serious and want to progress into c and b territory, i think you should get some serious practice partners that will use builds that you want to practice against; d level games on iccup is definately not the best way to practice the standard play required at c and beyond also strong and careful decisions >>> mechanics at d level if you were a very knowledgeable and experienced player with 50 apm, you could prbly bash most noobs with up to 160 apm without much difficulty.
