Hi everyone.
Sorry for causing a mild unpleasantness through my last thread involving a stat problem.
But it really was my friend's problem~  here is a proof...her original post in Facebook for those of you who have Facebook (no I'm not that girl who posted it...there're links to my Facebook and LinkedIn pages on my site...) I was helping on my own (she and I eventually worked out the solution), but I was wondering what all the smart folks in TL say too
Which is what I meant by "we the geeks of gaming and poker which are all about chances"; I use the word "geeks" in a positive way to refer to people really really passionate about something. But sorry micronesia if you were offended by it.
I thought I saw in the past some threads about homework problems...but like Mani said I guess I need to look closer what kinds of posts they were...

And no, homework threads are not banned from TL, what IS banned though is just posting a bunch of questions about something and show little to no effort from your part on trying to solve them.

Yes, that is true. You can post something if it provides a good topic for discussion. There are lots of college students and intellectuals who like to discuss academic stuff. There's nothing wrong with that. But if it looks like a copy/paste or "find me an answer" thread, then we'll close it.

No need to apologise, just make up for it with a nice content filled OP! A little write up about a player you've been following, or a report of a game you found interesting, or a drawing... Doesn't matter! Just do something good so you don't have to feel guilty

CI = mean(x) +/- t' * s / sqrt(n)
t' = the abs value of:
> qt(.05,963) --> (from (1-0.9)/2 and n-1)
[1] -1.646437 --> t' = 1.65
s = sample sd
n = number of observations
.: CI = 0.0024 +/- 1.65 * 0.05 / sqrt(964)
