I really did, honest. But I thought this movie flat out sucked. It was the small but annoying as fuck things about the film.
My first problem with the film is a a subject that runs through the entire portion of the film. Which is rich kids running wild through New York all night. I especially found it annoying that the drunk HIGHSCHOOL girl managed to be lost, and drunk all over the city without running into a single cop, especially the train station. Post 9/11 that girl would either be in the back of a squad car, or having her absent parents coming to pick her up.
I also love the fact that wherever they go there is a large enough space to park a Van at each venue they arrive at. Cause we all know New York is parking heaven.
Then there is the ex-girlfriend who Michael Cera's character is heartbroken over, who is well, ugly. Maybe it is because, at least in this film, a pretty crappy actress. In the scene where she is dancing in front of his car, she looks like a drunk that you would find in a Bowling Alley Bar.
The last nail in the coffin was near the end when a song from the Mad Scientists started to play. I understand, or hope, what the producers or whoever were trying to imply but that is not what the song is about. It is nowhere near it.

I saw it some time ago..
didn't find it "boring", but I'd give it a rating of "meh" at best. ;P?
I was a good way to waste time, sort of.

plus, kat dennings has some great...eyes.

very nitpicky but the movie merely bored me to death.

omg you're back!?
:D!?!?!?

Looked like indie kid music movie to me. Never saw it and assumed it would be bad.
|
i feel like this is the equivalent of saying that it's dark outside at 2am. of course this movie is bad. all indie flicks that try to ride the coattails of their predecessors always fail because they are thrown together like crap and rushed to release. they were still hoping that the juno indie crowd would jump on this movie if it was quick enough.

michael cera rocks.. i watched this movie.. its kinda cool, but nothing more than this..
Year One is fucking hilarious!!

This movie looked so bad. Glad I never went to see it. Thanks for the review. These are the kinds of things (aside from the horrible acting and bad music choices) that would make me really get sick and walk out of a theater over.
Juno was good, but by now I think everyone's tired of Michael Cera's lamewad typecast. It was hilarious in Arrested Development and manageable in Juno but by now he's got to grow up and do something different.

LOL. So OP thinks there shouldn´t be ugly people in movies -.- Yes, realistic. And she´s not even ugly. But you must have one damn pretty girlfriend to have such high standards.

cera's ex in this movie isnt supposed to be that hot... the scene where she's dancing in front of the car is SUPPOSED to look stupid and tacky.
you are angry at a movie that doesn't realistically portray parking availability? really?

Wait, you actually expected a romantic comedy to be good?
