Was so much better than what was shown in theaters in my opinion. I think maybe Ridley Scott should never work with Fox again, if that is possible.
Even after watching the Director's cut of the film, I am still confused about the role of David Thewlis, the Hospitaler, was he suppose to be God or some sort of Spirit that guided Balian?
The battle scenes were still epic. I especially liked the sword fight between Orlando Bloom and Marton Csokas. And who can forget the short but violent Calvary charge in the movie.
But my character of the movie, who was a minor one through the entire film, Velibor Topic, who portrayed the character Almaric. There was a Knight you could rely on.
Ghassan Massoud as Saladin was also masterful.

The director's cut version is a very good movie, easily superior to the likes of Gladiator, which everyone seems to like.

gotta find this somewhere... so meaning the director's cut could have owned cinemas if only that was released.. it's like rating a "meh" car 3/10 then putting in all the goodies to make it a 8/10

The theatrical cut was boring as hell so its unlikely that a new cut could be any worse!

I hadn't seen the theatrical cut but I did thoroughly enjoy the directors cut when I saw it. My favourite character was certainly Edward Norton as King Baldwin, maybe because I like the enigma that a mask generates XD But overall from me it got the thumbs up, mostly for the characters other than Balian, not that he was bad or anything. Certainly better than a lot of the other films within its genre such as Troy imho.
