I'm Terran player, but recently, I tried some fun games picking Zerg as a race. It was totally, totally weird! I got confused with almost everything: timings, BO's, Drone production etc. When I rushed to 2-Hatch Muta, bunch of Marines came and blasted my natural. 3 Hatches = instant rush. Basically, I got screwed and returned to my Terrans.
My point is that Zerg are in fact the hardest race to play. Surely, Sauron production looks appealing, but there are so many damn issues to master, it's horrible!
- You cannot cancel mis-produced units without Larva waste. - You must know how to keep balance between Drones and other units. - You must take care of your Ovies. - You need to scout urgently & constantly... - You have to fight on distant ares, where your expos are. - Controlling gazillion of units is horrible.
...and if you fail at multitasking/synchronizing your attack, you are dead.
As a result, from today, I respect Zerg enemies the most, especially when they can handle all these thing well.

Thank you young Terran friend.
Tell your comrades to stop meching me and we can all be on good terms once again.

Zerg becomes a lot easier when you learn to build zerglings.

I'm a Zerg player, but recently, I tried some fun games picking Terran as a race. It was totally, totally weird! I got confused with almost everything: timings, BO's, SCV production etc. When I rushed to 1-Rax FE, bunch of lings came and blasted my natural. 1 Rax Fac = instant rush. Basically, I got screwed and returned to my Zergs.
My point is that Terran are in fact the hardest race to play. Surely, Terran Ball of Death looks appealing, but there are so many damn issues to master, it's horrible!
- It's impossible to keep your minerals down - You must know how to keep producing SCVs - You must take care of your Vessels. - You need to scout urgently & constantly... - You have to fight on distant ares, where his expos are. - Controlling gazillion of m&m is horrible.
...and if you fail at multitasking/synchronizing your attack, you are dead.
The thing is, every race has its difficulties. I'm glad you respect a race other than yours, but I don't believe in a "this race is harder than that" mindset.

It's only a matter of time before someone comes into this thread and starts crying about Protoss, though.

@Saracen - haha, well, nice to see it from other perspective. But still, I think Terran is more mistake-forgiving race than Zerg.

The thing is, every race has its difficulties. I'm glad you respect a race other than yours, but I don't believe in a "this race is harder than that" mindset. Or you can mech. Ta-da, and TvZ becomes as simple as PvZ with the imbalances reversed.

Terran is definitely easier now because of all the mech and tricky play they can do.

but seriously:
Surely, 1a2a3a attacking looks appealing, but there are so many damn issues to master, it's horrible!
- Your units are always getting stuck trying to move around your base which is full of fat gateways - You must take care of your Obs. They are expensive, slow, and fragile but are necessary in every matchup as they are your only form of mobile detection - Probes are killed ridiculously fast by almost anything - You need to scout urgently & constantly. a zerg tech switch can be instant loss. Sometimes it's impossible to scout so you have to guess, and if you guess wrong, you lose. - You have to fight with half your army because if you don't leave units behind zerg will mass drop or counter. - You have to deal with heavy probe losses in every pvt game no matter how good your defenses are. - Templar sometimes lag when you ask them to storm, and often refuse to merge into archon before dancing with each other for 3 seconds.
...and if you fail at multitasking/synchronizing your attack, you are dead.
|
I'm even a protoss player and I think that protoss is easier. Except in PvZ, then zerg is easier.

I'm a Terran player, but recently, I tried some fun games picking protoss as a race. It was totally, totally weird! I got confused with almost nothing. When I forge-expanded, my cannons were always there to kill any zerglings. +1 speedlots = instant win. I don't know if I'll return to zergs.
My point is that Protoss is in fact the best race to play. Surely, mind control is appealing, but you don't need it when you have psi storm!
- Maelstroming a 200/200 zerg army is hilarious. - Probes can hop over terran walls with the pylon hop. - Shuttles run by turrets ez w/ the speed upgrade. - 1 reaver shot on workers @ fastest = rofl. Same w/ psi storm or stasis. - If the zerg doesn't leave an ovie at his base you can ninja it ez. - All your buildings look badass.
...and if you fail at multitasking/synchronizing your attack, it's ok at my level!
Just kidding kinda...this is actually a true story for me a couple of months ago. Ended up switching to protoss for a short time and then switched to terran. Now I can play all 3 races at a D+ level, but I think Terran is still my best.
