Not sure... Anyway, it's 15th August today and thus 815. Thus the map, 815 in his post. I still don't get what discussion it's meant to generate but maybe we could mock Racenilatr for not knowing the date. It's basically when we declared Independence against the Japanese ^_______^ looool you might want to reword that to be more accurate

Japan is like a child caught red handed doing something wrong who lies about it, despite the fact that everyone, including them, know they're guilty. All they need to do is go "yeah, we tortured thousands of innocent civilians to death just to see what'd happen, we invaded China for land, we organised systematic rape and murder against a civilian population just because we could and our treatment of POWs was in breach of every convention of international law, the rules of war, every religion and even basic humanity". Then everyone involved can go "it's cool, just don't do it again" and we can all move on. lol what? German and Japan were both involved, didnt they get a bombed? anyway if germany won the war it would prbably be UK and allies that were the bad guys you know the who writes history But modern Germany doesn't annoy France or Poland because by admitting and apologising for their crimes against humanity they drew a line under the event and moved on. Whereas Japan doesn't admit fault for atrocities on a similar level to the Holocaust and still honours Class A war criminals. And this isn't just winners history, Japan was unequivocably in the wrong in this. For example, to learn more about treating victims of burns they deliberately set fire to Chinese civilians and then cut them open while still alive (after putting them out) to examine the damage. The knowledge that Japan refuses to apologise for shit like that pisses me off, it'd piss me off way more if I were Chinese or Korean. German politicians and society sure... but some Germans want their before-WW2-homes back or even question current borderlines. Media in Poland were going crazy over that for some time. Add 20 000 declared neo-nazists in Germany to that. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Erika_Steinbach http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Federation_of_Expellees http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Territorial_Association_of_West_Prussia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Centre_Against_Expulsions Happy 8/15 independence day

Vivisection...they tested bacteria and biological weapons on conscious human beings. They put people on fire, put them in dry cleaners and let them spin around until they died. Officers inseminated women and then subjected the fetus to vivisection when the child was born. Also the korean comfort women, that apparently ranged from 10 000 to 200 000 (yeah HUGE margin). Basically korean women that japanese soldiers used as whores. Some of these women are still alive to this day and wants acknowledgement for what they went through. But again the japanese don't care and says it didn't happen.

Only Germany as a state has admitted and attempted to atone for the Holocaust while Japan continues to attempt to deny and minimise what they did to China and Korea. Whereas in Germany it's a crime to in any way try to diminish the significance of their national crime in Japan it's state policy. That pisses people off. Well yeah, Japan has got a sense of pride (I know it's not the word I'm looking for). Dunno if our history teacher was making things up but he told us that Japan preserved the bombed parts Nagasaki and Hiroshima just to show to the next generation on how badly they were treated by foreigners....

I think there's enough potential in this thread for asia bashing that Moltke should come in and offer us a lecture on the long history of european nation states.
