Yeah I used to look up pictures like this for hours. It completely blows my mind how war used to be. Video games and such cant even begin to capture just how horrific it must have been during WW2 (and during any war really).

Makes me glad the chances of me having to go to war are very slim. RIP to anyone who has served.

I don't get how posting a few pictures is "obsessing" and I think your statement is kind of one that I would say "no shit" to. How would you even go about looking up a peaceful picture? There are so many more pictures of "peace" than there are of "war." Conflict defines humanity. Obviously looking at pictures of it is going to appeal to people, especially pictures of a war so monumental but before their time. Human "nature" to you seems to mean human "interest," which is fairly mundane and predictable.

The pictures of the Vietnam War are so brutal. I'm not surprised the US started censoring war pictures after that war.

Man those are some amazing pictures. The fact that most of them are in black and white I think adds to its brilliance and makes them even more powerful. I can't imagine being a soldier in the draft going to war in a country I don't know like that and having to see and deal with all the shit that comes from war.
