I've never been able to understand why people obsess over pictures of war (especially world war 2) instead of pictures of peace. Maybe that's just human nature.

I think people do obsess over pictures of peace. The art of photography constantly produces pictures of peace.
Whenever a picture makes a statement, people 'obsess' over it, whether it's war or not.

What is a picture of peace? Peace is the absence of conflict so the vast majority of pictures are pictures of peace.

The only thing i can really say here is the history channel. They constantly show things about war, although it isn't exclusive. And while pictures of war aren't exclusive, definitely there is a larger focus on them.

We dont get these pictures much anymore. US knows that displaying these images from war will turn the people against the war (like in Vietnam).
