Of course I am an American and I confess I don't really have that much knowledge about the British political scene. This guy though seems pretty interesting, I thought his speech on the U.S senate was terrific. Can all the British people clarify as to what kind of person this guy is? From what I've heard from everyone this guy seems to have too many double standards. The guy is a quite the manipulative douche bag. And he appeared on big brother, dressed as a cat licking milk out of a bowl.

And Kwark, Iraq was a atrocious illegal war that shouldn't been started off in the first place and I do agree that people have too many double standards on this issue. How is he wrong for speaking out againts the Iraq war anyway? And Israel is a major problem and is the starter of most conflicts in the middle east; the very ideology of zionism is akin to a Nazi idealogy. I mean, how is he wrong for speaking out against Israeli settlements and acts of aggression against innocent Palestinians, and the way Israel functions as a rogue state (lying about Iran, lying about walling cities, stirring up terrorism and feuling Islamic fundamentalism and idealogy)? Edit: Ok, he was lying and now I do think he's a big douche, however it's just that i'm not a big fan of American style capitalism or Israel for that matter.

The House of Commons is a legislative body and therefore its time is monopolised by the party in power trying to get its legislation through, and the opposition party opposing it. What this means is that an independent MP like George Galloway essentially never gets to speak because he doesn't matter so nobody cares what he thinks. He can still vote but between big blocs of vote he is inconsequential. Because he doesn't matter he gets no speaking time, which is fair enough because it's not a coffee shop for chatting, it's a legislative body. On a quiet evening when nothing much was happening because they were having an unimportant debate on a different topic he saw his chance to shine. He attempted to change the subject to Iraq and the Speaker told him to shut up because he was essentially wasting everyone's time. He wouldn't so everyone agreed to kick him out.
