www.wcg.com.ua has not been updated since WCG'08 GF. But yesterday there was a press conference about WCG'09 Ukraine, so now we have no doubts about ukrainian participation in WCG this year.
But there're still good news and not_so_good news: Games: Counter-Strike, WarCraft III, FIFA, StarCraft и Asphalt 4 (java)
Spotes to GF: CS and A4 already have 1 paid spot to GF for each. And there're 2 paid spotes left for SC, WC3 and FIFA. Orgs decided not to give a spot to the game that will have less participants during national qualifiers. But the winner of this game still has an opportunity to go to WCG GF for his own money. Those opportunities are also available for CS 2nd place and for 2nd and 3rd places of games SC/WC3/FIFA with most participants at national qualifiers.
National qualifiers will take place on 29 august - 13 september. National final - 26-27 september.

how many spots does ukraine have for sc?
|
theoretically - 0.66 1 for sure if SC has more participants than FIFA at nat.quailifiers.
|
1st place goes for organizators money (if sc doesn't appear with least number of participants in qualification stage. If it appears - 1st place goes for it's own money) 2-3 place also can go for it's own money So there are 3 slots given for Ukraine, but maximum 1 will be payed

Hi, Жека! What can you tell about theoretical situation if you or Alex take 2-3 place? Is there a chance for you to go GF for own/team money?
|
Why do all the countries that actually have good players get 1 or zero spots.
I feel bad for the polish and ukrainian gamers. There are so many players that deserve to go to the gf's =(.
|
We won't go on our own money. Only if team covers big part. I didn't talk with Alex, but i'm sure he thinks same as me.

Yesterday was the last day of online registration. Here is what we have in total: SC has 105 registered participants, WC3 - 111, FIFA - 249. This numbers are not final, cuz players are able to register in the day of qualification, but it will cost a little bit more. Seems like SC vs WC3 for a free spot to GF.

Strelok/WhiteRa/Dimaga battle ^_^ with some really good lesser players too... going to be nice.
Be happy you have the OPTION of paying your way though.. that aint bad. Especially with big sponsored teams.. maybe there is a chance you all go
In 2007 with WCG in our very own Seattle Skew couldn't go.. for no good reason really. Kinda lame. But he was willing to pay his own way.

Strelok, White-Ra, Dimaga, Hannigan, fraer... and there are tons of other very strong players too O_O! WCG Ukraine is pretty intense

3 more towns, new participants of the nat.final are: RoX.KIS.Marwin Mag1ster RoX.KIS.fraer fire)HappyZerg RoX.KIS.Dimaga St)Jersey
ESC.Strelok has autospot to nat.final.
by the number of prelim.participants FIFA is far ahead. so next week we'll know which game will get a free spot to GF - WC3 or SC (SC is leading by 4 players - 65/61)

Go Strelok!
What a shame only one place for Ucraine, there are at least 3 players who should be there.
