Victory not Vengeance
For those that don't want to click the link VNV Nation is a musical group that produces a variety of club music. They were previously self-defined as "Futurepop," but later said that they regretted labeling themselves as that genre. Most of the music is highly electronic with some piano, lots of drums and drum beats, and a lot of vocals. The vocals are characterized by "epic" themes with a, for the most part, hopeful overtone.
They just released a new album titled "Of Faith, Power and Glory" and I managed to get a ticket to their concert in Denver. Sadly, since I'm dumb I forgot to bring a camera so I could capture the event. Anyway, the name of the album should give you a basic idea of what I mean when I say "epic" themes. No, they aren't religious but they do oftentimes mention religions of all kinds and draw their lyrics from philosophies of many cultures.
All of these things combined create my favorite music. Hands down. Most songs manage to give me chills at at least one point of the song, or even a point in my life when I can really relate to what VNV is singing about. Keep in mind though that many people find the music cheesy and don't like it. With that in mind I'm wondering what other VNV Nation fans there are out there. What about other fans of the non-so-clearly-defined-genre of Futurepop/Darkwave/Synthpop/EBM/Eurogoth lurk Team Liquid? I'm particularly curious because of the variety of people who showed up to the concert. Also, if you've seen them please speak up! Their concert was amazing and apparently most concerts are very personal to the region and I'd love to hear what it was like.
If you're curious about the music I encourage you to check out the album "Empires" It's a favorite of many people. If you'd like something a little more mainstream go with their newest "Of Faith, Power and Glory" Most of their albums are great! I'll link a few things of note below.

Defiant - Of Faith, Power and Glory (More mainstream)
Beloved - Futureperfekt (My absolute favorite song)
Illusion - Judgement (A soft one, another side of VNV less appreciated. Video is unrelated to the music in this one)
Kingdom - Pastperfekt (The song that got me hooked)
