I think maybe they feel that their words are being viewed under a magnifying glass and if they say something even slightly arrogant, everyone's going to hop on them for it.

And that's true for at least Bisu. Bisu shows the slightest hint of confidence and everyone jumps on him and calls him an arrogant bastard.

Man, that game on Andromeda is my favorite game where Jaedong loses. 11 hours a day, good to see they know how to manage their health. It's also nice that they know that the other is working just as hard, so they're always motivated.
