Hey I know it's fun, but I don't think there is any point giving those guys more reasons to hate "gamers." But if you really want to spam, please head over to the forums so I can read the critique being posted on the book itself. P.s. If anyone feels like voting for me that would be great. Read the 4 chapters I put up and make up your own mind. Is self-promotion prohibited by TL?

Within reason. Creating an account and immediately trying to profit from the TL user base is prohibited. An example of reasonable self-promotion is glider's videos.

Klaz is doing you all a favor in helping this 10 years old game survive outside of Korea, whether you like and admit it or not. Endless entertainment for lurking when at work (and a forum like that is usually not blocked too!)

But yes, the administrators probably never anticipated anything like this. The premise of the book is actually quite interesting, since it touches upon the sensitive issue of conflict between India and Pakistan. So it might have potential. While I am a fan of Klazart`s commentaries and will register and read what he has posted, I am only going to vote for his book if I genuinly will consider it good. As a prospective writer, I consider it my duty to evaluate Klazart`s work based on the quality of the work itself and not on his commentating reputation. Tom, Good luck with your writing. When you're ready, please post on Authonomy. You'll have to put up at least 10,000 words (most put up closer to 20,000 words to avoid being bumped when editing). Then join the Authonomy forums and introduce yourself. People who are interested in what you've written will read and constructively comment on your posted material. Authonomy is set up so that you can easily edit your material. Thus, your story develops over time. It's a cool way to workshop new work. When you post material on Authonomy, please feel free to message me (CarolinaAl on Authonomy). I'll give it a read and write a critique on it. Looking forward to seeing you over there. Al

So ya, it's not just you. Any of your own material that you link to pretty much has to be relevant to the discussion at hand.

Do you want me to transcribe them here? ;-) It's a concious decision to be a pacifist. That's my basic of life. R

Recently, a really popular and accomplished member of the community named Tasteless posted an OP with a link to a blog somewhere else. The thread was closed, with the mod saying "TL is not your personal advertising site" or something like that. So ya, it's not just you. Any of your own material that you link to pretty much has to be relevant to the discussion at hand. I have a question then; well, two, actually: The rules when you log in only speak about spamming not self-promotion - is there a difference? What's the general view of the community here on klaz's marketing coup? R

A bit more tolerance all round would be nice, altho it IS the internet.

R By all means, please don't. Obviously I wasnt critiquing your pacifism, but the fact that you managed to apply your ridicoulous generalization about conflicts of any level to this interforum debate, and you felt this was a real issue, and felt it was important to add! I suppose you don't dare having different opinions about anything in life, because that (erm... apparently) causes war. If so, my statement of "you have a long road ahead to become a writer" stands. Can you make bread and butter without announcing "War is bad, okay?" :D (All of this only applies if you're over... 14, otherwise you'll grow out of it, don't worry.)

Team Liquid and Klazart had a falling-out early last year about comments that TL staff posted about members of SC2GG, the site where Klazart posts his commentaries. There is only a little bit of bad blood left between the two sites but you should take that little bit into account when reading this thread. I think generally the feeling is one of bemused neutrality. And also, it's not a "coup" that Klazart pulled, unless a coup can be accidental. If your site is designed so that an influx of internet fans can rush in and upvote a manuscript to success, then it's not a well-designed site. EDIT: I had to lol at one of the comments Klazart got from a regular of the site: "First off, I hoped 'Lesser Sins' would be truly awful. Alas, it isn't. You have the makings of a good story here." hahaha

I do disagree with lots of people, but disagreement isn't conflict, and certainly not violent conflict. R
