I just wrote a new song during the new year.. I was really inspired and felt happy with what I was making and I thought I'd show some of it to a friend but then; He linked me a video of Incubus and their song "Wish you were here" The similarity was definitely noticeable but I had never heard that song before... It makes me wonder if all my other songs are like that T_T.  | ||

This happens to me a lot more with melodies than with lyrics though. I'll come up with some sweet music lines only to find out the next day that I just ripped it off. If only I had written it 5 years earlier.... Sigh. Oh and Pink Floyd's Wish You Were Here is infinitely times better than Incubus'. | ||

And I know what you mean. I'm no song writer, but whenever I try some things on guitar, or am humming something, I never come up with something good because it has always been done =\. Originality sucks. | ||
