Ingredients:
180 gr flour
half cup sugar
tiny bit salt
110 gr butter
1 egg
2 spoons of butter
2 spoons of sugar (i like it not that sweet)
vanilla (optional) - stick or quality extract
~5 Grand Smith Apples
standard round baking dish (~26 cm)
Heat an oven to 180 celsius
The dough:
Put the flour, sugar and salt in a food processor. Process for a bit.
Add the butter and process just a bit until you get crumbles.
Add egg and process a few more seconds until you get a dough.
Make a ball out of it, cover with nylon and put in refrigerator for at least an hour.
The apples:
Peel the apples, take out the hard part and cut each one to 8 parts.
Put some butter on a pan and heat. When it melts put the apples, 2 spoons of sugar and the Vanilla(not necessary).
Stir from time to time until they become soft and start to change their color.
Making the cake:
Take the cold ball flatten it quickly to the size of your baking dish (you need some powder on the rolling pin and on the surface).
Organize the apples in the baking dish. Put the dough on top of the apples (you can put small parts until you cover all of it)
put in oven for 35 minutes or until it becomes golden.
Serve hot preferably with whipped cream.
