i dont think i've seen sea this pissed before
But hey, Leta 2-1 2-0 as expected
seriously steve, sea is no where near PR material atm
i had 2 giant gripes with this last PR, and that was one of them

Two great games dont mean that your an amazing player It simply means that your opponent was close in skill level. These two rapes clearly show that Leta was the far supeiror player

Leta is so good...
Is this Royal Road for him, btw?

i really expected sea to perform better, thinking that leta would win 2-1 in a close series. that was just brutal, but now that leta has two bo3's under his belt (making both opponents sweat profusely while doing it) he seems to be in good shape to make a run deep into the osl.

=( poor Sea. There's just something with leagues he just can't crack.

Leta showed some seriously good control there. There was one time where he saw a push coming, rushed out a single goliath to take the tank fire, then defended 7 tanks with 3 tanks and 2-3 goliaths. The other moment that impressed me was when sea was trying to scv rush and scv bomb at the same time. Leta just calmly /stopped his tanks and told them to fire at sea's tanks. He defended that with minimal losses.

you are wrong
you are someone who doesn't understand how high above the current standard of TvZ his game against Jaedong was, and how masterful his game against Iris was
Sea's spot on December's rank is completely justified, Leta certainly hasn't shown himself capable of games at that level.
Yes, this series changes things. The outcome is not predetermined and before this series Sea's placement was correct. He made many, many mistakes in those two games that he really should not be making.

Well - I didn't see it, but it seems like he was just too aggresive, and Leta just has absolutely fantastic defense ability.
That does seem to be how he wins - defense and heavy macro. Then he inches forward. I'd like to see how he does against Bisu, who is like playing on e8 different parts of the map at once.

This. Leta was at no point behind in either game, from start to finish. He secured a small, early advantage and nursed it patiently to the end. The last time I played an expert at chess was fairly similar - I just sort of felt my position falling apart and couldn't do anything whatsoever. It's incredibly demoralizing and Sea just quietly gg'ing probably is representative of how he was feeling.

yeah it's like he took a one pawn advantage and rode it all the way to victory

i think about half the active roster of pro terran players would have won those two games given the same build orders - sea played reaaaaaaaally bad
god he threw so many scvs away on terrible break attempts

That game was basically the same as the Jaedong game, except sea made one or two more mistakes and ended up losing from an advantage. Sea managed to hold and on win vs Jaedong - it was an impressive game! However, having a very strong TvZ shouldn't be all you need to get #10 on PR. Leta's achievements across the past month and bit (like his 14-4 record in proleauge) far outweigh Sea's one awesome game.
Oh yea, i hope you haven't forgotten about Sea vs EffOrt yet either, that wasn't a pretty game.

well as far as we know there could be some practice partner who absolutely destroys shit in practice games... does that mean he should be considered one of the top sc gamers right now (in PR) ? no. Of cus proleague carries a lil more weight than practice games but when it comes down to ranking individual players, nothing factors in more than individual league performance imo... And in that department, Sea certainly never was and is not top 10 material.

point: maybe sea played bad but leta's been raping T's left and right all season. An argument can be made that he forced sea to play bad, ie force terrible break attempts

What would you have recommended in Sea's position halfway through? Going for a big timing push right before Leta's 4th kicked in?

especially when FBH predated the BC leetness against jaedong a week before Sea

So steve's PR rank for Sea is based solely on 2 games where Sea played well while ignoring most other instances and overall gameplay ability. Every game where Sea loses he's simply playing bad, and is supposedly ignored. What about his good games? He's simply playing good, and should be ignored too? What's important is the overall level, not take 2 individual games and make an argument over it. It's also easy to have close, epic games when you're at similar skill levels. The games between Sea vs Leta weren't close & epic at all, because they're not at similar skill levels, lol.
In the second game, Sea had a nice BO advantage over Leta with his faster expansion. He also got 2 more factories up earlier. Still, Leta controlled and positions his tanks very well to snipe a lot of Sea's units. Slowly, Sea lost a bunch of men and was being pushed back until he realized there's no way he can win. Intelligent, impressive play by Leta.
