Certainly, I think it's possible to become proficient to some degree, though it might be harder since you don't have that amazing young brain capable of such impressive growth. You also won't have as much free time to go out and practice, etc., and you'll be worrying more about life and stuff.
Which isn't to say it isn't possible, of course, the great pianist Arcadi Volodos started piano lessons when he was 12, and he's currently one of my favorite pianists (along with Argerich and Gould). So hey, what the hell, get some lessons and enjoy the piano.

I love the Japanese. I really admire their culture and the way they were able to flourish so impressively post WWII. Of course, I'm going to have natural reactions to some actions committed in less than peaceful times, but that's to be expected of everyone. I think it's natural to have a good opinion of all peoples.

My top three goals in life...well I'd obviously like to be happy and settle down with a good wife and raise a family. I think happiness and health in life is more important than power, money, prestige, etc., though of course, those can't hurt. I think I'm going to try and leave something to remember me by...to leave my mark on this world, to leave it better than it was coming in.
I'm currently on a pre-med track, double majoring in Statistics and Biology at Duke. If I manage to actually do it, I'll be the first Stats/Bio double major in Duke's history, or at least I was advised that way the director of undergraduate studies in the statistics department. She might have been trying to dissuade me from doing it, since virtually no classes overlap and the courseload will be extraordinarily heavy....not to mention Statistics and Biology aren't exactly the easiest majors in the world. As an aside, I'll only need two math credits over Math 103 (the weed-out Multivariable Calculus course) in order to complete a math minor, if I actually finish a stats major.
I'm looking to be involved in the medical field. My mom used to teach medical school in China, so I've obviously always been influenced that way. Maybe I'll be a doctor, or something, but I do want to do research. Maybe M.D./PhD? I'm not sure...kind of ambitious. I love statistics like you wouldn't believe, so I'd actually probably try and get a doctorate in statistics.
I have a dream job, of course, which is to be Ambassador to either France or China.
But that obviously won't work out.

My life is comfortable. I'm thankful for everything I have, and all the opportunities I've been given each and every day. My views vary greatly. Chihuahuas freak me the fuck out. Yes, I could write you a fifty page paper on the mating cycle of the platypus for you, but there'd be no guarantee of quality. According to the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, 42 is. To me, no. Kuhn-Tucker Lagrangians are used in first order conditions in constrained optimization. I use them poorly. Mayonnaise is disgusting because it has a bad taste. I'll try.

Montagues and Capulets from Prokofiev's Romeo and Juliet. Best way would be to dance targeted Hydralisks away from the front while having all other Hydralisks target individual Zealots just enough so no firepower is wasted. If they surround, immediately move the front part of the group in a perpendicular direction. As for Zerglings against Zealots, obviously a flank would be best. You could try separating individual Zealots from the pack, though smart players will know how to avoid that.

By looking at the future and seeing what lies in store for you if you don't get your act together. Come to think of it, I need to do this myself, since I'm one of the laziest people I know and I'm letting myself get complacent. I waste a lot of time that I regret wasting, as I could be, say, practicing piano, learning German, running, etc. But whatever, your experiences make you who you are.
Also, have you tried independent research? Learning for the sake of learning in something you're interested in is one of the most fulfilling things in life, I've found.
And as an aside, I only speak Mandarin, English, and French. German and Japanese are languages I've wanted to learn for the longest time, but I've been too lazy to actually get around to learning them.

Nothing really. I've quit piano for a while now, I want to do everything third of Chopin, though. So far I've learned his third etude, ballade, scherzo, waltz, nocturne, impromptu, and the finale to his third sonata. So I don't have much else left. I'm probably going to end up being too lazy for that, though. All the piano I do nowadays is just playing for fun things I do by ear, like video game stuff or pop music like Jay Chou, Maroon 5, Teresa Teng (my favorite singer ever!), etc.
If I could play any piece perfectly, though, it'd be the finale to Prokofiev's third piano concerto. Martha Argerich's interpretation in 1967 with Berlin (I think) is just astounding.
